At first I was excited. Overly so. I mean, a new Tiamat album is up for grabs. Once again it's taken the band a long time for another release to come out. I listened, and I liked what I heard. Then, after a while, I was considerably less enthusiastic about it, which is not to say outright disinterested. Now, after even more time has passed I'm wallowing in the territories of "Aw, shit, I don't know..."

Fuck that shit. A Deeper Kind of Slumber part two is what I'm hoping for from Edlund.

That would be my second choice for sure (glad you didn't say Wildhoney like everyone else).

Yep, same here. It literally would never happen but it's a nice thought.

I think it's a nice album. Then again, I'm extremely unfamiliar with this band. Too lazy to check them out.

Same, although I did a once-over of their discog a while ago and found them completely insignificant. I know they have a pretty decent following and have obviously released some material some people go crazy over, but it's just not my thing.

Hell, I prefer Heaven Shall Burn's cover of "Whatever That Hurts" to anything Tiamat have released.

I really support this idea, but we know it's not gonna happen.

And that is the reason I am putting on their best album once again

Is there a fucking chance they're going to release a good album this time? -.-"

I doubt it, they haven;t released a good album in a long long long time
paradise_lostdk - 23.04.2012 at 20:51
Uhhh nice! Looking forward to new material from Tiamat. What about Lucyfire? Would love some material there to.
IyadAbbas - 28.04.2012 at 21:22
Whatever it will be ... i hope it will not be sleepy album like the latest one ^_^

You thought Amanathes was sleepy? I loved it.
IyadAbbas - 01.06.2012 at 20:41
  Its boring
Nickferatu367 - 16.06.2012 at 06:12
Knowing these guys, it wont be anything like any previous albums.

Rating: 5 I don't know why I'm not dissapointed, because I loved Amanethes.
But I really don't think anything about this album. It's decent background music and overall it's not bad at all. Just not good.
skime - 09.11.2012 at 13:53
Rating: 9 I like the atmosphere of this album..
Gjulch - 12.11.2012 at 23:25
Rating: 5 Disappointed very much... I expected an album like Amanethes...
JohnDoe - 07.12.2012 at 14:03
This is not bad at all, better than expected.
NocturnalStalker - 09.12.2012 at 13:14
Rating: 8 It's a really nice album. I'm not sure if I prefer it to Amanethes but it has some pretty good songs.
Unna Med - 05.01.2013 at 23:51
Rating: 9 Amanethes in my opinion was a stupid and uninnovative gothic doom with some death elements not worthy of Johan Edlund's genius. This is much closer to Wildhoney, and it is the best their release since A Deeper Kind Of Slumber.
strade - 27.01.2013 at 02:36
Rating: 10 Most underrated and best album of the year. This ended up being the grower of a lifetime, and I don't think I've listened to any release from 2012 more. Topped only in their catalog by the incomparable A Different Kind of Slumber.
