Album of the year so far for me. Love the hints of some post-metal elements especially towards the end of the song: "All the pieces".

Wow! heavy rains of positive comments pouring down here really makes me to check this stuff out soon. Not a big proggy fan, but no harm in checking them out though.

Oh wow, how did I not hear this sooner? Just looking at the cover I didn't think it was going to be anything all that great, but I was DEAD WRONG. This is one of the best releases i've heard this year. Simply phenomenal.

Thanks again for the feedback. You know, Endless Sea is one of those songs, where I think certain people just won't get into it, and that's fine, especially if you mostly like progressive metal, probably not gonna dig it, cause it is not metal or progressive at all. Then again, some hard-core Death metal friends of ours said that's their favorite, so who knows! It's like shoe-gaze metal. It's a simple song, just with a lot of layers, and if you get into that main melody and the feeling of the song, or the lyrics, you'll love it, and if not, it's ok with me. It's always interesting to me to hear different peoples takes on things; some people have told me their favorites are close to me, Endless Sea, and All the Pieces, others love Serenity and 17 shades. Right now, my favorites are the first four on the album. I will say, Beneath These Falling Leaves is the song I'm probably most proud of, especially after we got Jarek to put the GuitarViol parts on it! Anyway, glad to see so much positive feedback on here! Cheers.
'Beneath These Falling Leaves' is definitely among my personal song of the year contenders. I just love how it's slowly building up towards this instrumental explosion at the end. Thanks for that.

Seriously? This is fucking beautiful music.
I put the album on, started concentrating on something else, then was like, "wait... WHAT am I listening to?!"
I'm blown away. How fun to read Josh's comments right here in the thread. I'm off to read the whole interview now as the album finishes

Very good debut album indeed. The riffs are absolutely killer, and a delight to listen to. However, it's a shame that most songs follow the same pattern. The progressiveness suddenly doesn't feel so progressive anymore...

I've been focusing on this album the last few days. I have to keep reminding myself THIS IS A DEBUT RECORD. Loose around the edges, the production could use some tidying up and the variety of songs isn't the best but after all that I look forward to hearing what these guys come up with next. Bright future.

High-quality simple songwriting. Leans further towards rock rather than metal IMO...

Looking back on the genre debate on this band, something has dawned on me. In The Silence reminds me of the new prog (or post-prog) movement that is present in the softer rock along the likes of Anathema. Another modern metal band that comes to mind is Chaos Divine, who have a bit more aggressive sound on their latest album. Looks like there's a post-progressive metal scene emerging.

I keep coming back to this album after 6 months of listening to it. The only thing I wish this had was some death metal vocals to add some harshness, but that's just my opinion. Very good debut indeed.

I was searching something similar to In The Silence genre then i read this, i listened their 2nd album and i agree 100% with you...
These guys deserve more, u all should listen "The Human Connection" album, but don't forget they are not a clone of IThS, just the same genre so don't expect they to sound like IThS...
Good listening...
