The instrumentals are actually pretty decent for new Crue, but the lyrics are GODAWFUL. I know its a subject matter to expect from a glamband but the way they went about it shows zero creativity lyrically on the subject matter, just super watered down and basic with "Yeahs!" and "No's!" thrown in at random.
I wouldnt mind so much but its a tease cuz they actually came close to creating a decent song here if they didnt butcher it with the lyrics.

Oh well. Let's see if I can explain this.
It's just a single. I mean, let's take the "Master of Puppets" single for example. It's my favourite song of all time, so thereby it would get a 10, right? Not really in my opinion, I can't give it the same rating as I would give the actual album. One single with one song can't in my mind get a 10. That would also mean that a single is better than an album with maybe 10 songs which I've given a 9. And it isn't.
Because of that, my ratings for singles rarely go over a 7. The rating 5 or 6 for a single is a good rating IMO, I like the single, I like the song(s). A single with a 7, I think I have some 8:s out there too, is a really good single, often a "big" one with maybe 3 great songs.
I've given it a lot of thought, probably to much. Some would say that you would rate a single compared to all other singles, not to compare them to full albums as I do. I understand that. But I just wouldn't like the sight of an awesome single, 3 minutes long or something like that, having a better rating than a great album clocking over one hour.

My Favourite song Is The Alurre Of The Earth by Woods Of Ypres, and it happened to be releasedin single form. I gave it a ten, because it's the best song I've ever heard.
I usually do a rating for each song in my head, and then do an average, which then becomes my album rating. So if it's only one song, and it gets a ten...

I also used to rate like that. It was so easy when I used the Windows Media library, there I just rated the songs with stars and then you could see what the average rating of the album/single/whatever was. But a couple of years ago I started with my current system, which sometimes can be a bitch.
