I was a bit surprised when I learned the Suomi Metal Star contest winners Oddland are a progressive band. Even though the contest organisers, Century Media, have a few notable prog metal bands in their roster, I imagined they would go for something more straightforward. However, as soon as I heard what Oddland have to offer I must say that Century Media have shown some great taste; The Treachery Of Senses is an outstanding debut album and seems to be exactly what they were after.

It's nice to see it here. Actually, it was only two hours ago when I listened through this release.

It's a good premise, but it was quite boring the times I listened to it.

This album boring? Can't conceive of such a possibility, really.

Must be that I've heard a lot of similar stuff already, can't find anything bad with the music itself.

The album is now available on Spotify.
Edit: Actually it seems like the whole Century Media Records catalog (finally) returned to Spotify.
"Spotify offers great tools to discover new artists. We feel that this is essential for our promising newcomers. In that respect, Spotify gives those artists a very good forum," states Antje Lange, general manager Europe."
No shit, Sherlock.

It starts off a bit genero-proggy but gets really interesting with the fourth track. You can tell they're Finns, too. Fine little album.

Are you people serious? i love prog metal...this isnt it. This shit sounds unmusical to me, really really bad. I had to lie down after I heard it the first time, mostly because I had a laughing attack. Ok but in all seriousness...this is just bad music.
