I don't find them amateurish myself. I find them ideally suited for the mood, especially as they're buried slightly in the production and have a nice reverberating, echoing lade effect.

but they are more like a crying 2 years old baby on my ears. I might try to erase the vocal and purge the music in order to make it more enjoyable

And what sound is more piercing and uncomfortable than a baby crying? the vocals suit the music at hand. Raw, rough around the edges etc.
