What's so good about the Metal Storm awards besides all the joy you get should your favorite band win the award? Discovering new bands. That comes from a deep sense of curiosity and interest in trying out new stuff and after you're through with it, you realize that the selected nominee doesn't even have a review, which is a shame, really.

Good album, for fans of female fronted gothic metal. The songs are quite similar, but each has a nice melody. There is a male vocalist too, and when they sing together it reminds me of old Lacuna Coil.

Great album.

If you gave this album 10 here, why is it only 8.3 in your review?

I tend to be specific in a review as I consider that to be a deeper look rather than a brief summary of the overall impression I get from the album. I give a lot of albums a 10 because I rate based on my feelings but it's a little different when it comes to reviews. Even Deftones got an 8.0 in my review.

Masonics

Im interested in this as the female singer is from Omit which I thought was a great doom record. So the singing should be good at least.

This album is like this

First half - nice, very good.

Last half - boring, sleep inducing.

As of Lacuna Coil, their Dark Adrenaline review coming up. For that only, I landed up here. Overall, this record is good. Nice melodies and cool flow.
