After the slight disappointment of "Obsolete", Fear Factory had to prove there status as heaviest industrial metal-band with the release of Digital Mortality, or "Digimortal" for short. With a huge story running through the album, it's the music that matters most in this case. They managed to put down some really fine tracks, as opener "What Will Become?", or the new single "Linchpin" and the simply brilliant "Damaged", but it's the new approach to some songs that actually scared me. Take the length of most songs for example: most songs are a meaningless three minutes each. And that's exactly what makes a song fine, but not perfect. You're just thinking "Oh man, here comes that wonderful drumming again", whilst the song is already finished, you know what I mean. You just sit and hope the song will keep on going for another minute.

I don't think this is a bad album to be honest, its just that it has a lot more influence of industrial elements than anything else. That said, it still gives as good as it gets.

Although I do think this album is weaker than "Demanufacture" and "Obsolete", it's definitely not a bad album. And songs like "Damaged", "Invisible Wounds", and "Acres Of Skin" are awesome and amongst my fave FF songs. xD
