That was fuckin intense, Katon. One of the best thrash metal albums in years. Just discovered the presence of Juan Garcia, Jim Durkin and Rocky George on it. La boca de la bestia till death!!!

This one keeps growing on me and it's getting close to a 9.

It sounds really authentic and vital - it's like it's an album recorded in 1986 but not released until now.

This could be my favourite Thrash album of the year.

Defnitely on the to buy list!

Absolutely.

Where was this album by now?! Amazing. It's great record for younger lot to learn for them. If Hirax can come out of such a splendid record, why don't others?!

Decent music, actually, but the vocals often feel very dislocated and tunelesss, as though they were lifted from other songs entirely and transplanted onto others which really brings the quality down. Very annoying and laborious at points.

Well, you shouldn't have an issue with vocals considering the amount of crap thrash spewed up last year. I mean nothing was in shape. I'd say NOTHING. Now, if you listen to IL you'll find vocals weren't offbeat(yeah, in some songs singer tried to pitch in at very odd loop) but it gelled with music quite fantastically. At least, after leapfrogging so many amateur thrash records this was something cut-above decent. An album deserves to get at least 8. Even if it's pushed up to 9, I won't choked in shock.

It's certainly better than the majority of thrash I heard last year, and the vocals are good, it's just that they sound very arbitrary to me, sticking to the same scales which don't always sound especially harmonious to my ears. It may be that it is technically correctly sung but it's not to my taste either way.

I should probably point out that I'm a huge fan of dissonance in music, vocals included, but this doesn't feel harmonious or dissonant. Just feels poorly done.

or semi-hidden gems ala Artillery.

Well, they sucked with their latest album to be honestly. You can't save the record solely on the basis of riffs after riffs. Sorry, not for me at least.

Such is the case with this album.

Diverge

This album screams 80s thrash, but Hirax manage to make the music feel genuine. A nice little surprise.

The vocals tend to be hit and miss for me; his mid-range is very strong, but the higher notes tend to feel very laborious and strained.

I liked this one, I won't complain about Katon's vocals, he is a really humble and nice man who always gives his best, his voice fits this music.
Most riffs here are pretty intense, maybe it's not the best Thrash metal album of the year, but I find it enjoyable, with a lot of replay value.

The instrumentation here is very good, but the vocals drag the quality down a bit. They're not absolutely terrible, but for this style of metal the vocalist should adopt a different vocal delivery.
