Brilliant songwriting, excellent use of keys and a strong 70's (prog) rock influence makes this one a beast of an album. A straightforward rocker like "Rock of Ages" rock, rock, rock, rocks you away, "Horsemen of the Apocalypse" will make you kneel to the necromancer and "Ready to Fly" brings the final surprise. Never be a loser from the start, pick up this album and follow your heart.

A classic NWOBHM album, altough I would say there's a more Magnum-ish songwriting for most part here. The four last tracks are excellent and has a strong prog vibe. The first couple of tracks are pretty good but nothing spectacular, which drags down the rating from a 9 to a 8.

Heavy Metal? Lite Metal rather IMO

Pretty good debut, no doubt about it. Maybe I would say it's average if it was conventional HM, but this musical style makes these not maybe the strongest songs yet interesting. Haven't heard their later albums yet, though I have a feeling they've got some more notable album(s) than this...

Talk about an overlooked classic. These guys clearly knew how to write engaging melodic heavy metal songs, and not just that but they also have a nice early 80's progressive edge and rawer production somewhat similar to early neoprog albums. The title song isn't just worthy, but I'd even say it's one of the best in the whole NWOBHM subgenre. The last four songs in general are great.
