Cult Of Fire are unlike your usual black metal acts; they do not show any themes around the acknowledgement and praise of Satan, there is no sign of the inverted cross, or any sign of the sigil of Baphomet.

This one eluded me until now, and upon first listen I must say it is exquisite stuff. Like a rawer non-hindu Ascetic Meditation of Death done with less care but still with an incredible atmosphere, magnificient song-writting and banging riffs ! These guys are so good....

It has about the same level of feeling as their other releases, but isn't as strong in the songwriting department. Still a high 7, but glad they matured away from the obvious Emperor and Bathory worship. The second half in particular feels pretty generic and starts to drag. First half is really solid though.

Could someone explain the cover art to me please? I see they are burning what seems to be a bible, but are they in KKK outfits?

Google "spanish easter parade" and Wikipedia will explain for you how KKK stole some pretty awesome costumes from a much more interesting celebration (even to a non-believer like myself).

So this is really what they were trying to portray on the cover?

Also, I should have mentioned, this is a really good album, but I like their sophomore output and even their EPs more.

That'd be my best bet. It sure as hell makes more sense than KKK robes (plus, the capirotes are known for being more pointy and detailed than KKK robes). They have a very interesting origin. Terra Tenebrosa and Amenra have used them in artwork a few times (specially the later) and I can see why, given some of the capirotes' concepts regarding guilt, self-punshiment and redemption.

I have seen TT do that, but not Amenra, even though I love Amenra (one of my favorite bands).

So, I know that the KKK is in the U.S. only (I'm 90% sure), but still, is there any proof on any of this? Like, has the band ever released a statement about it or it's similarities to KKK robes?

I have not. But to me the difference is clear enough to be certain they are not KKK robes. Go for pics of KKK robes and actually compare them to Capirotes. They are clearly different when looking at the headgear and how the capirotes look like actual costumes with many layers instead of just robes. Also the fact that capirotes have a vast variety of colours.

As for Amenra, look at this. That's the artwork of a tshirt. They photoshopped their logo with the crow's feet on the capirotes.

Thanks for explaining the difference to me, I never would have known.

If I may be allowed, I do not think CoF made any statement regarding their stage outfits (both for the capirotes or the more "hindu" ones they wear now) but I do not see how it can be related to KKK.

As Rod said, the capirotes robes are more pointy and much more detailed. They actually have a longer hood, a cloak, a belt, different colours, etc... all depending on the brotherhood they belong to. The Cult of Fire outfit is exactly like this (corroborated when seen live, they are exactly the same). Which the KKK ones are not (only white and mostly a filthy rag put together).
Moreover, since the band had at the time an imagery and lyrics much closer to occultism, rituals, etc... the reference to an old grim religious tradition is more logical than imitating a bunch of idiots in yankeeland a few decades ago.

EDIT: Fack, got ninja'd

Well, you are probably more knowledgeable on the concept than I am given your nationality! Glad to know I wasn't talking out of my ass on this one hahahaha. I find the whole spanish easter thing quite fascinating tbh. Would love to be around those areas some day just to watch the parades as they are truly imposing,

You explained it really well
And yeah, they are fascinating to see. Totally recommended, even if it's becoming too touristic. I'm use to them since I'm a kid, but ever since I got into occult/ritual black metal and that shit, I like them even more haha!
My favorite is the "Silence Procession" (in Granada) that starts at midnight that is particularly grim with the penitents dragging crosses on their backs, wearing legcuffs and black cloaks, all in complete silence except for a solitary drumbeat (and the chains rasping against the cobblestones...). The atmosphere is sooo fucking sinister (more than any BM band can hope to achieve, outdone by some Christians )
