Rather than take the natural path and make Down IV a single full-length release, southern metal giants Down have instead taken an unusual release strategy and opted to follow up 2007's Down III: Over The Under with a series of EPs. The first of these, the Purple EP, dropped in 2012 and, whilst generally well-received, I found it a tad underwhelming. Thankfully, this second EP offers something of a step up.

17.11.2014 Doomy, Sludgy Stonerrifferic hails to Sabbath. Sure, Phil's voice sounds a tad ravaged by time, but group has it's mojo on with second part of IV.

Rating: 8 I agree it's better than Part 1... It has more of the Doomy, Sabbath feel to it.

Rating: 8 I'm still yet to form an opinion on it. I do love the last mellow part of Bachannalia with those wierd harmonised guitars.

Rating: 7 For me this is just as good as Part I, where half the album is excellent, and the other half is average for the band. The Opening three tracks I actually think are weaker than the closing three, the Sabbathian "Conjure" especially making for one of the band's best recent songs. I also think Anselmo's vocals fare a little better here than on the first part of IV.

Agreed especially as he doesn't do that faux-Ozzie he does on songs like Witchtripper on first EP.

I think Phil's voice always sounded a tad ravaged by time.
