After pulling the album solely based on the Strange Artwork cover, I really didnt even knew what these guys played. It's Old School NWOBHM-influenced Blackened Speed Metal with a somewow more modern aproach including some amount of Groove, Stoner and lil'bits of Sludge. I have to admit I was expecting something horrible but it wasnt the case, No Mercy For Mayhem is quite enjoyable. I really their hability to slow down and go more Melodical/Melancholical.
It's a 7 for me.

To me it's typical Midnight, albeit sounds less fresh and more tired. Can always enjoy this, but wasn't hit by a brick wall as it was the case with Satanic Royalty (first thing I listened by this band).

Talk about over categorisation!
It's like saying Master of Puppets is a Progressive Thrash Metal album with elements of Heavy Metal, Alternative Rock (the mellow bit of Sanitarium), Groove (Thing That Should Not Be).
In the 1980s bands had variety and people didn't bother over categorising. Half the time they didn't bother categorising in the first place.
It's basically old school Speed Metal straight out of the school of Venom.
If you take your time to read it correctly, you'll see that I've cathegorized it as Old School blackened Speed and not Blackened Speed/A bunch of other stuff. It has that old school sound but it doesnt just grind the Venom recipe, it goes to other places, some of which I've mentioned. I would never call MoP a Progressive Thrash Album but its arguable that that Album has elements from other genres other than just Thrash (unlike Bonded By Blood or Reign in Blood, for example, which are classics that stick mainly to one thing).
And we're not in the 80's anymore, we have a TON of more types of Metal so I believe labeling is a necessity.

Except this album is a 1980s throwback to a period when it was quite common for albums to be written with a mix of faster (speed) and slower songs (groove) and production was often raw (blackened). Really you threw in a whole heap of genres where only 1 would suffice.
As I keep coming back we don't call MoP Progressive Thrah or years of Decay Thrash Groove Doom Heavy Metal or early Slayer blackened NWOBHM Speed Thrash Metal.
If you would read the whole post instead of quoting the part that interested you, You would see this:

A really straightforward album, they really seem to know what they want to play and they don't give a shit about anything else. Fans of the old-school will find this quite enjoyable.
