There's something naturally interesting about Icelandic music. Perhaps it's out of predilection for its origin, geographic distance and isolation at the top of the world. Whatever the case may be, there's one particular metal band who have managed to convey their own meaning in this phenomena.

Finally I've heard the whole album which is fairly good but still I can't get why it had drawn so much attention. And these weak vocals ( but I must agree that they fit into the music well) don't even get close to Bono's voice.

What style do the 1st 2 bonus tracks count as? I can hear bits of black, thrash, heavy metal and hardcore in there.

Late reply is late, but Til Valhallar is a re-recording of the original song from their debut EP.

Gave it another spin today, what a boring album. I'm hoping they play some stuff from Köld when I see them live because this will just put me to sleep.

Solstafir with their sound striped down? They did that once, it was called Fjara. But Fjara was still loud and encompassing. Without that it all just sounds boring. This is still good, and is far more enjoyable when they play the songs live, but this album could have had much better production to keep it on par with their previous two albums.

Hello fellow Sólstafir fans

I'm here to share something a little bit off topic, yet very relevant to this song.

I guess it's a very unoriginal thing to say, but I really love music. I'm not a musician, I prefer visual arts for myself, but the thing is that my art wouldn't exist without music, since it's what drives me to lift up the brush in the first place. A year ago I made this painting https://www.etsy.com/listing/468565966/hingepeegel-a-mirror-to-the-soul-oil?ref=shop_home_active_4 and the whole time making it I was listening to Ótta, it's almost as if the piece isn't really complete without the song. I wanted to show it to you in an interest that if you see this piece and connect it to the song, may be you'll find a visual stimulation to what you've formerly heard through speakers . My aim is to sell the piece, but I'm writing here in hopes of finding someone who will appreciate it and understand the true meaning behind it, which is the feeling and the state of mind that Ótta puts you in.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincere regards

Marita
