Norway's Galar are melodic black metal first and foremost with their features of Nordic folk giving them their own face in the crowd, a crowd best represented by the likes of Vintersorg or Borknagar in their early days. De gjenlevende, the band's third album, takes its time in laying down its melodies, and nothing is short and sweet in these tunes epic and wintry.

Just accidentally stumbled upon this on Bandcamp and it's some pretty neat blackened folk.
Admittedly, I'm not too deep into folk metal and all of its variations, but yet I'm seriously baffled that this band is still almost unknown.
Maybe Enslaved and Borknagar should rather share some of their fame with their fellow countrymen? After all, they're almost neighbours, as far as I know.
