How many recycled albums do we have to endure until they release a new studio album?

At the rate they're going quality-wise, we're probably better off with recycled material anyway.

This should be awesome.

Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe (Lao Tzu).

It's kinda pointless to make an acoustic version (with the same goddamn vocal tracks) of your latest album the year after its release.
But presenting on stage a more varied and carefully composed acoustic set, yeah... It does have much more sense for me. I loved it and I forgive you, Kata. But this is the last time. Next time I want to hear some fuckin new stuff.

ABBA have also released only a few studio albums until 1981 and then dozens of "best of" compilations afterwards. Maybe Katatonia want to follow their path. Write once, cash up twice ... $$$ ding ... triple ... $$$ ding. However, I already liked Dethroned & Uncrowned, so I will probably also like this one ... so let's buy it ... $$$ ding.

After first listen, I must admit that I really like it. Maybe darker than "pure" metal can be. So what is next, Katatonia? What about a re-plugged version of Dethroned & Uncrowned in August ... and a live recording of that in December ... and an unplugged version of that early next year. Or a re-release of Brave Murder Day (one of my most favorite albums) with a dead sparrow instead of a dead blackbird(?) on the cover?

Dead End Slaves, perhaps. A completely ambient reinterpretation. Featuring Steve Roach.
Or Day Is The Old Night: back to the death/doom roots.
But my wet dream is The Great Hot Closeness: lounge versions for spicy evenings with your date. So when you let me in, you let me justify... my bareback...
There's plenty of material, Kata! Bring it on! We're waiting!!

Jokes aside, this is a very good recording. Maybe not as a summer listen, but on the rainy evening in the fall... it will be perfect.
