Only their full lengths start with Roman numerals.

How do you explain that Mandragora is IV and Flora is VI then?

V is still coming. They/he are/is releasing stuff in the wrong order.

Btw, I quite like the cover:

Groot?

No matter how much I try, I can't seem to get into this as much as I want to. I liked the latest album a little more though.

This sounds better than what I had previously heard from the guy.

He went back to a... harsher sound, closer to the first album. That was my impression, I didn't push the analysis far.

I've heard their debut and pieces of later materials. The first record sounded kinda amaturish. It's like the guy just recorded something extremely shallow and hided the shallowness behind his very radical take on BM.
This one, which again I haven;t heard fully, is more mature and developed it seems.

I'm not going to dispute you on that, I hated the first album. But really I was just talking about the vocal style and flow of it. The latest full-lengths were more... meditational.

Gotta love how the first album is so polarizing. I seriously dont understand where the shallowness comes from though, felt like a random critique.
Even though I found it a brilliant debut I'm glad he went to do other things afterwards to a more, like Ilham said, meditational sound. It was definitely a sound that only worked for one release and that's it.

Also, live... They are incredible and the "meditation" side of them really comes to life as well as the faster tracks.

I think this was actually written around the same time, so that could explain it. At least I'm sure they're "unreleased" tracks from a while back.

Ooooh. It's nice to know I wasn't imagining things, thanks for info.

Really, really nice. This is what I was hoping Botanist would evolve towards. Like a softer, more rounded version of the first album mixed with later stuff. The musical equivalent of those moments when the rain is subsiding and the grey clouds give way to rays of sunshine and you get all three things at once. I'm well poetic, me. Green metal.
