Definite improvement over a previous offering.

I don't care about an artist's background, in this case all the bullshit around Geoff Tate. What I care about is the end result, and if it comes from a serial killer, an astronaut, professional or hobby musician, it's all the same to me. This album is definitely better than anything Tate released in the last decade (and even more). Gave it 2 listens already, and it has its moments. Some soft(Burn, On queue), some melodic(Re-Inventing the future), some heavier songs (Hearing voices, The Fall with a beautiful saxophone solo), some progressiveness here and there, it all sounds good to me. Good album.

Average, but still better than his last two abominations (i.e. Dedicated to Chaos and Frequency Unknown).

Jesus, you guys are positive about this album... It is totally atrocious. As could be expected by Geoff Tate over the last decade or so. If I gave it a 4 I would be positive.

The music's a bit amorphous but it's almost okay to listen to as some kind of a -lite and less inspired version of older QR, but the vocals are so weak. I don't have an interest in seeing what the last two Geoff Tate albums were like considering the massive negative reception towards them, but I can only assume this is better than them because it doesn't really belong in a discussion of worst albums ever, it's just quite insipid.

Edit: actually, I'm halfway through and bored out of my mind. And the production of the riffs is so muddy. It is bad.
