Oh, this band is interesting.
At least the last album was. Wasn't aware of this new one. From now on, I'm looking forward backwards to it (edited)

Haven't heard any of this, but the last one was great and disturbing indeed. I always think of kayo dot merged with khanate when thinking about this band. There is definitely more than just "black metal, death metal, doom metal" in this band.

Not in the mood right now for a sensory onslaught such as this, but the whole thing can be streamed here.

It's like John Cage meets Throbbing Gristle meets some kind of insane avant-garde metal. It's quite the undertaking.

So, no more MotW merged with khanate playing death metal?

Not sure what MotW is but nope, I would say. Not sure if this is even really comparable to any metal act.

Wasn't a huge fan of this release. It wavered between being intriguingly strange, and annoyingly obnoxious. I'll have to revisit it a few times however, given just how strange it is.

I would personally enjoy it a lot more if they did away with the metal parts, but that being said I do appreciate the scope of what they're going for. Most definitely not an album I've totally made my mind up on yet.

I think they are the best when they have these slow wavy e-guitar parts coupled with piano/whatever. They lose it when it is a full blast. Still a very good record, and obviously a challenge.

The biggest influence is probably Tom Waits and those are the best parts here. Could have been a good album but it feels a bit messy.
