Well I don't think anyone could accuse this band of just endlessly repeating themselves. This is a big departure from the 10+ minute post-rock/metal instrumental voyages from the likes of Avoid The Light. There's still some post-rock songs, but not usually as long and not as typically loud/soft. Probably my favourite instrumental track on here is Plans, with a really cool heavy climax with some neat lead guitar. Outside of that, the first song is actually quite indebted in my mind to 80s synthpop, or it feels like it at least. And then the songs with vocals often feel more proggy than post- if anything - the main comparisons my brain made were Haken and especially Leprous, but I might be forgetting a more appropriate comparison. Overall I rather like it - it feels a more developed album compared to The Flood Inside, which was good but still linked to their old post-rock and not entirely committed to whatever direction they were trying to take. Good effort.

Interesting. This made me more curious about the album.

Lines is my favourite track in this album. A more interesting and inspired release than their last album for sure, even though their definitely more in prog rock territory now

Enjoyable release. Not as good as their first attempts for me. My personal "likes" in this are tracks: #1,#2,#4, and #5. Much better than the previous album...
