If only this was released after No Place For Disgrace, history would be a lot different.

Impressive... as usual. Better every listen. Took about 20 minutes to get addicted, anticipating the next track. Erik still kills the vox and nice addition with Bittner, speedy master timekeeper. Tight guys, nice job!

It's amazing that they managed to come up with such a fantastic album after soooo many duds. Easily their best since No Place for Disgrace.

Was a bit skeptical after reading these comments, but fortunately the album appears indeed to be great. It's good to see F & J back to playing some thrash/speed songs again

Meh. Don't see how this stands out in any way. It's not a bad album ... I don't see myself listening to it more than once. It's neither insulting nor mind-blowing.

Solid release.

No doubt they're very good in their roots; they really did show an old "f&j" vibes on this fantastic record. Great flow, impressive production and more importantly, they fill the blocks quite nicely(which seems to be quite a problem with new thrash bands).

See Vektor? This is how you make cool thrash metal tunes. Hopefully Death Angel will also be great.

Good release i would say. Live upto the standards to what they're capable of and pulled all necessary strings to form a fine release.

So, as a F&J noob, is this the album to start with or should I listen to the classic, older albums first?

Start with "Doomsday For The Deceiver", then "No Place For Disgrace" (but make sure to get the original 1988 version).
These two classic albums are untouchable. The new album comes in third (at least in my opinion), but it's not nearly as good as these two.

I guess the time to revitalize my love for thrash has come. Thanks for the advice, man!

I have to agree with Daniell for 100%. And indeed stay away from the 2014 re-recording of 'No Place For Disgrace'. As for 'Domsday For The Deceiver' if at all possible try to get hold of the 2006 2cd + dvd Metal Blade special edition boxed set of it.

edit: click to read more about that version.

Listening to "Doomsday..." on YT right now. It's fucking awesome. I almost feel silly putting it so vulgarly, but I was convinced in the first few minutes, definitely added to my MUST buy list. Also, apparently Metalblade does ship to Estonia and the special edition is only 12.99 ? at the moment! Thanks a bunch, guys!!!

Pretty damn good stuff, especially that crazy bass tone, I love it. My only complaint here is that the album lacks any big killer kick-in-the-nuts kind of instant hit to stick out from the rest, but then again there's no noticeably weaker songs either.

The band seems to do better with the more traditional thrash approach and combined with A.K's vocals it is already a really enjoayble result. Well, not as good as the first two albums, but it was a huge surprise when hearing it the first time. Iron Maiden and L.O.T.D. are my favorites on this album.
