In 2014, the Belgians in Emptiness threw out Nothing But The Whole, a thundering album of black and death metal that combined the two quite seamlessly, with a delicious sense of atmosphere to boot. Being almost universally praised in underground metal circles, how exactly does the band follow up such a powerhouse release? Easy: by going for something different.

Re-listened to it. Apart from Meat Heart I now think it's trash and a waste of time.

This is one of those albums where I like it on first listen, then listen to it way too much and dislike it again, then months later pick it back up and love it.
I love the atmosphere in this.

I am the same exact way about this album. I loved it, then I didn't like it, and now I love it again, and it feels like it will stay that way.

Someone should add the post-punk tag to this album.

This is quite the snoozefest.

Says the guy who calls Suicide Silence's debut "wicked good" :/

Maybe this just isn't your style.

My liking of a band in a completely different style somehow affects my judgement in a genre that I can guarantee I listen to more than you?

No, thats not what I meant. I meant maybe that completely different style is what you prefer, and this style is just not for you.

I'm not saying you are not allowed to like SS, or liking them is a bad thing, I'm not an elitist or anything, I just think that based off this album probably just isn't for you.

Fair assumption, but my musical taste is all over the board, especially when it comes to metal (which this album is barely).
