Poland's Disperse have made one of the more diverse progressive rock records in recent memory. Foreword is a precise blend of post-rock's delicate guitar lines, prog rock's complicated song structures, and metal music's forceful wall of sound when it needs to be. Yes, I know, fans of their last album are probably wondering why I didn't include djent in the genre descriptions. That's because most of the djent from Living Mirrors has evaporated and Disperse have changed gears.

Wow, this is one of the most interesting djenty alternative records I've listened to in awhile. This destroys Living Mirrors. While I still believe DispersE's debut is the best record produced by the band thus far, it's now obvious that their new musical directions can be fruitful. Not a single moment of filler, in my eyes.

This was a massive improvement over their previous work indeed. I'm so glad that the vocals finally fit - the vocalist's accent used to feel like a grain of sand in your eye when there's a great view in front of you. They really matured on this record, although the similarities to David Maxim Micic are quite obvious, not that I'm complaining. Will be coming back to this one a few times for sure.

I had to see what all the hub-bub was about. The other music site I frequent is all over this album. It's unique for sure. I hate djent, with passion. Thankfully, on this record, those moments are at a minimum and covered up nicely by tremendous atmosphere. Dude, you and I must be long lost brothers or something, such similar tastes.

Yup, I think you basically converted me into a post-metal guy a few years ago. I'm glad we have similar tastes along the intersection of alternative metal and djent- that's where most of the interesting stuff is anyway!

Man, these guys seamlessly pull off a great mix of atmospheric metal, with some electronics, and a lot of really surprisingly satisfying pop-ish moments. Kudos to these guys for releasing something quite unique. Not sure if this will hold up as being one of my favorite albums of the year, but it's certainly a nice breath of fresh air.

It's become one of my favorite albums, always nice to get back to it for a listen ... or two.
