Was impressed with my first listen through a week ago, but I haven't listened to it since.

Amazing. I'm surprised they can still break the rules of the genre and produce something that even surpasses their previous releases. the best tech death album in a long memory.

Finally some GOOD new tech death that isn't over saturated with the widdly diddly, "watch me sweep pick on my 7 string guitar" fuckery. This is really complex and layered, but not to the point of losing emotional impact and boring you with its show offy technicalities. The music still sticks and it's very well written. Hails.

This is such tired, rehashed nothing. Generic riffs, average vocals, embarrassingly bad lead work. Sure it's chaotic and full of buzzing guitars and stop-start BS. But the music just doesn't live up to the premise. There isn't a single memorable riff or section here. Just a hundred little dull snippets that take from different genres and cover it up with ADD song structure and annoying sound effects.
