Breaking the Habit is such an emotional and captivating song. Yes, not on a level as, say, Gojira. But for what it is, it's good!

I don't play the guitar, the guitar plays me.

No, honestly. The guitar is an arsehole

The first album I ever bought. I owe my entire musical journey to this record.

This album was a big chunk of my childhood. Even though I don't listen to it anymore, I still like it a lot, no matter what anyone thinks (or pretends to).

Linkin Park is responsible for getting many young hip-hop listeners into metal back in the day, so this album, along with Hybrid Theory, were the perfect gateway to metal, although I was discovering metal anyway at that point, so while most of my age group was listening to LP, I never really cared much for them unfortunately.

This album isn't really to my taste, but there are a few songs I find at least listenable like "Don't Stay", "Somewhere I Belong", and "Breaking The Habit", but for me "Numb" is the only song that has my interest. I like the lyrics but I've never really been a fan of Chester's vocals, and I can't stand the rapping parts.

I could never stomach this band so I couldn't even review it objectively.

Their not a band I've ever been into either tbh, it's certainly not easy to listen through an album I don't really like, but now I can say I've given them a chance, I don't think I will be revisiting this again any time soon tho.

Numb is the anthem of teenage angst, the song is quite meaningful, and with some shame, I admit that it's one of my favourite songs, even though I'm nearer to retirement than being a teen. Don't know if its nostalgia glasses or not, but this song ticks every box, creative sound, meaningful lyrics, great singing.

Not rating the rest of this album, because I haven't listened to them much. This was the MP3 era, so all teens had them on their MP3 devices on repeat.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

The definition of not great, not terrible. More of a pop album with some heavy parts, but yeah, Breaking the Habit and Numb are the best songs here because they are more introspective than just accusatory.

This and Hybrid Theory imo are what did the Nu Metal genre justice. Strong lyrics, catchy song-writing, and overall unique sound.
