The fourth song sums up my opinion quite well.

Grand Again is the big highlight here. Into The Wild is pretty good and Quite Alright is Quite alright. The moment is okay..? Dark Symphony is just garbage. A shame Feather Moves didn't make it to this EP, it would have immediately been the best song on it.

I agree, "Dark Symphony" is easily one of the best tracks on the EP. After listening to the EP many many times, I would say that it was most unexpected and diverse, almost to the point of confusing, which to be honest is what I was expecting from Conception. Not a single song sounds like the other one, and this is the fresh feel I somehow wanted to get from Conception's new music after Kamelot's disasterous shadow-phantom-raven-whatever-the-hell-crap-concoction-that-was. Additionally, Roy's vocals are amazingly fitting and better as ever.

I'll be honest, it could be my higher expectations speaking, but it's a fairy average record to me. Grand Again and Into The Wild were my favorites, with My Dark Symphony coming close at third, I suppose. Otherwise, it doesn't sound very familiar as to someone who expects the same Conception sound 20 years-or-so after their break. It definitely is an interesting piece, considering every track has its own thing going on, but overall, I'm looking forward for the unreleased material the band tease the fans with, which was not featured on this EP, nor on the single.

Anyhow, it's a warm welcome back to the Conception camp and especially Roy from me.

EDIT: After repeatingly listening to all the tracks in the EP, I find The Moment the best, with Into The Wild in second and Grand Again at third. A pretty interesting, mystical, perhaps, piece.

I'll have to give it another listen. I was pretty turned off by the lyrics the first time around. Maybe it just needs a few plays like you said.

Nice EP with good production and Khan shows that he hasn't lost his voice. The three first tracks (not counting the intro) rocks while the two last ones are not as hard hitting yet offers some flesh to the cake. I wouldn't go as far as calling it great, but this is straight through good and a strong new beginning. Khan and Ostby back in business? Mucha felicidad!

It's nice to hear Roy again but it's not that great. I really like "My Dark Symphony" "Quite Alright" and "Into The Wild" is cool as well. The other 2 are not good.
