Felt a bit disappointed after going through all the songs on this album, but my perception rapidly changed during my second attempt of assessing this piece of musical work a couple of days later.

The latest addition to the discography is different than Dekadent's previous 2 albums Veritas and Venera: Trial & Tribulation (both of which I hold in high regards). It actually reminds me more of The Deliverance Of The Fall (band's full-lenght release from 2008) with a mild flavour of Negura Bunget in combination with many slow parts that sometimes create quite a doomy (yet beautiful) atmosphere. Even though the band took a slightly different approach with The Nemean Ordeal, you can still expect to hear all Dekadent's trademarks that make the music special: some kind of mixture of black metal, awesome melodies and the overall feeling of being exposed to something majestic.

At first I wanted to rate the album with a 7, but moved up to 8. I still plan to listen to the whole thing at least a couple of times, so who knows...maybe I'll correct my mistake in time and change it to 9
