Still didn't bother checking an awful lot of 2016 albums, but this one is getting a load of replays.
Pretty much perfection when it comes to black thrash with addictive riffs, balanced length/memorability and song variation. The instrumental track has crazy good riffs, the closing track is beyond epic and I love how the vocals sometimes change (like on the title track). AOTY material for sure.
So looking at the credits, this band is basically now spearheaded, at least in part, by one of Cruciamentum / Grave Miasma's guitarists? That explains the huge jump in quality from previous releases then.

They've gone truly international now because besides the Cruciamentum/Grave Miasma guy they also have Felipe Plaza Kutzbach of Procession/Capilla Ardiente/Nifelheim in the band since last year

Suppose it makes sense the band relocating to Europe then.

They were in Europe before as well. Most of the band used to live in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Somehow they started off in Australia, relocated to Europe (France and The Netherlands) move to Australia again and now back to Europe.

Very good album yes, more refined than previous albums and with a clearer production. I possibly prefer Defiance slightly, it's just a bit more emphatic as an album.
Maybe, but I wouldn't put any level of trust in the person that accused anyone of not giving the new Killswitch Engage album a 9 or more as being "delusional" and "full of shit."
Well I've always though D666 was just pure bm so was surprised to see the amount of thrash reeking in here, later saw that they are actually blackened thrash, makes perfect sense. Great riffage though and a fantastic cover too, no wonder its on SOM last year.

Haha perfect reaction, exactly what I felt, this reeks so much of the 80's sound its almost nauseating at times.
Was never a D666 fan, had checked their older stuff and never really got me. now it's likely getting my MSA Thrash vote.
and had no idea Felipe Plaza Kutzbach was with them... and funny to see Marcel use "Kutzbach" as way back when doing our original Procession review he had me remove it as he'd only heard him called Felipe Plaza.
