Tales From A Cloud-Born Land is the Forefather half of the English Steel split released earlier this year, a joint venture with The Meads Of Asphodel. Forefather, the world's premiere (perhaps only?) Anglo-Saxon folk metal band, has been quietly dominating its own little corner of the metal world for a number of years now, and this release, half a split EP it may be, is further proof that no one will ever dethrone them.

Simply amazing band. These guys own their own genre just like Summoning and Wintersun, it's truly magical. The very first guitar / synth in Forrest Seasons "Awaken From The Dark Slumber" is VERY Forefather-esque, yet I never see anyone mention them. I'm not sure if "Anglo Saxon Metal" is the best way to describe it, but there is something special about the type of melodies and music these guys create. They are one of the few bands that bring me to tears consistently.
