Yeah, it's the riffs and bass... It reminds me mostly of Cloak Of Altering more than any other Morie's project. A maelstrom of dissonant melodies and a pulsing bass coming right at you. Some of the high vocals are similar too. The overall production is also the same.
Oh of course the bass, forgot about that. Rarely do I hear that kind of bass in anything else.

The vocals reminds me of Leviathan. Good album!

Really good and atmospheric record. But nothing like Mories' work. Maybe this could be said to similar sounding to some of his mellowest work, but apart from that there is nothing here that reminds me of Mories.

The similarities are pretty big when you compare them to Cloak Of Altering (it's pretty obvious that it has nothing to do with his more extreme music). Like Joe and I said, it's the style of the riffs and bass that give away the influences.

Yup, but still it can't be said of their sound since i find COA more industrial/electronic than this. It just might be of the song structures and their playing style.

Cloak Of Altering went pretty electronic on the latest. True, but I see (and I assume Joe as well) the similarities with the previous one which didn't have many electronic/industrial touches at all.
In any case, you are correct. I'm hinting more at the way the instruments are played rather than the songwriting itself. I never said ripoff though, I just find the influences obvious. Which is not the same thing.

It seems influenced by some of Mories' works, especially COA. But again COA is Mories' most straight forward black metal project implying the influences here can't be limited just to COA or DMV. I am just giving this more listens now to find out how crazy this realy is.

I'm late to the party but better late than never. It has everything I need to enjoy a black metal album: psychedelic, dissonant at points and with very effective ambient layers .
Also,I definitely get a CoA vibe from this, that's been discussed though.

Mz, you're not the only one
I listened to it on Bandcamp when Joe picked it and I remember liking it a lot but it's until the last couple of days that I found myself playing it constantly (alongside the new Castevet which kicks major ass). marvelous record.

I was gonna say the end of the last song, but that's also good.

This album is special. The last 4 minutes or so are wonderfully bassy and euphoric.
