It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

"OMELA - one of the most impressive groups… that concerns record culture, technique of playing and the level of musical thinking… " (Magazine "IN ROCK", 2009)
The musical style of OMELA blends a classical sound with doom riffs and progressive folk themes. Their musical arrangements feature versatile guitars and trumpet, sax and harp. This is charming, hypnotic music with hanging melodies, strong and unforgettable vocals. The music and poetry is written by Sergey Abramov - leader of the group and you will see they are influenced by such groups as Pink Floyd, Anathema, Empyrium, etc.
Now, Omela has 2 studio albums - "Viscum Album" (2009) and "Aura" (2011).
In my opinion, OMELA is one of the most interesting young (it was formed in 2007) metal groups in Russia. And I think, that people, who get to know with OMELA, will necessarily get much pleasure by listening this music...

Fading Bliss was born in November 2009 when Olivier (ex-Dewback / guitar) decided to start a new band with Doom/Gothic influences. After talking with some friends, the line up was quickly completed by Florian (Innerfire / keys) and Dahl (Innerfire / growls). Then, by word of mouth and through the Internet, Mel (vocals), Michel (drums), Arnaud (Alibido/ bass) and Nicu (2nd guitar) joined the band. Rehearsals started right after a 1st meeting on November 11th 2009.
Firstly, the band rehearsed covers from Tiamat, Paradise Lost and Katatonia ... and, as it was already united, the 1sts songs were composed. Those were inspired from 90's Gothic/Doom bands (Paradise Lost, Tiamat, My Dying Bride, Moonspell, Anathema, Katatonia, Amorphis, Septic Flesh) but also from nowadays ones (Shape of Despair, Swallow the Sun, Sentenced, Draconian, Therein ...). In the beginning of 2010, Nicu left as he didn't have enough time to get involved in the band.
At the end of the summer 2010, the band recorded its 1st 4 title EP at the Noise Factory studio with Gerald. This EP was released in October and the 1st official photoshoot took place as well.

It is a damn awesome band, and they have just put out the new record. And it is very good metal :) One thing that probably makes this album interesting for the fans of Helloween (and Gamma Ray) is the fact that "the old fox" Kai Hansen is featured as a guest musician on 4 tracks. :) Kai sung some lead vocals on tracks At Daggers Drawn and Steel Redeemer + played guitar solos on Terrordome and Star Odyssey.

Never heard of them, but I checked out the album. Quite good. Seems like a worthy addition. Not many releases so far though.

Enchanting is the best word to describe this band. They have released 3 albums in the style of medieval folk, some acoustic instruments and percussions. Fairydust (2005), Reverie (2006), Legends of Blood and Light (2008).

Peshmerga is a Death metal group from Chicago featuring ex members of Putrid Pile, Gorgasm, Earthen, Crematorium, Disinter, etc. They have a full length entitled "Murderous Acts of Cruelty" which was released last year and is a great addition to the genre, and I suggest this band be put on Metal Storm for all to hear and learn more about.

Apparition formed in 1997 by bassist David Homer and drummer Paul Collins. Both musicians were part of UK death metal band Asphyxiator who's album 'Trapped Between Two Worlds' was released earlier on in the same year. David Had written a melodic song called 'The Pain Lives On' which was different to Asphyxiator's usual brutal metal style. He formed a side project to record the song and he called this Apparition. David got Paul to drum on the song and to make things sound really different he asked a local club singer called Rebecca Tibbett to sing the song little knowing in time female fronted metal would become very popular. On New Years Eve 2003 David read an advert on a music shop notice board by a singer/keyboard player called Jen Lowe. She was looking for a similar sounding band and after a couple of meetings decided to work together and take Apparition further than it had before by becoming a full time band instead of just a studio project. David, Paul and Jen started writing songs together and it wasn't too long before guitarist Richard Knight and vocalist Annabelle Harris joined them. Together they wrote and recorded an album called 'Drowned in Questions' and in 2006 had it released through Casket music. In Late 2006 both Annabelle and Jen left Apparition to concentrate on their university courses. They were replaced by Ian Bentley on keyboards and Vocalist Fiona Creaby. After the new band members had learnt the songs on the set list, Apparition started playing shows again and wrote new songs, recording them at Rhythm studios in England with Paul Johnston who has worked with bands such as Napalm Death, Vader, Benediction and Tony Iommi. In 2007 Apparition put on a mini music festival featuring female fronted metal bands from around the UK called the Dames of darkness Festival. This was repeated in 2008 and all money raised went to the 'Breast Cancer Care' charity. In 2008 the songs 'Salvation', 'The Dream Where I Cannot Go' and 'The Path to Eternity' were completed along with a promo video for the song 'Salvation'. The video tells the story of a soldier going of to war leaving his wife behind. This video can be seen on this page. In 2009 Fiona, Paul and Rich left Apparition to be replaced by Vocalist Samantha Smallwood. Drummer Rob Swinnerton and Guitarist John Yates. In October 2009 Apparition supported ex Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen in London. The following month they took part, as well as co-organising 'Femme Metal Festival which also featured Delain and Sirenia. This was to be Ian and Samantha's last show. Ian had moved away from the area Apparition lived in and was finding it difficult and expensive to carry on being part of the band. Samantha, who is studying musical theatre at University as well as working a hectic weekend job, decided it was all too much for her. Sam loved being in the band but she had to think about her future career first. In the summer of 2010, Jennian King (vocals) and Francis Ezikwa (keyboards/piano) were the latest band members to join Dave, John and Rob in Appariiton. Jennian's position was temporary , agreeing to help out until a permanent vocalist was found. Before Jennian left she recorded a cover of the song 'Harvest' by 'Opeth' which is in our music player. The band members of 'Opeth' who composed and recorded the original song are Mikeal Akerfeldt, Peter Lindgren, Martin Lopez and Martin Mendez and it is from their ''Blackwater Park'' album. All songwriting credit goes to them.

Naturally, the eleven scars of the album title can only be applied to My Inner Burning's band history to a certain extent, since the five musicians (Becky Gaber, vocals; Torsten Sauerbrey, guitar; Jörg Janssen, guitar & shouts; Daniel Pietrzak, bass; and Niklas Kahl, drums) from Germany's Lower Saxony region haven't fought that many battles in their budding career.
Yet listening to their powerful metal, you can be certain that they have lots of triumphant victories ahead of them. My Inner Burning have the determination it takes, and they're ready to present their second album, Eleven Scars (German release date: 25 March 2011, Europe: 27 March 2011) - a surprisingly mature offering which highlights an impressive development compared to their already exciting 2009 debut. "Eleven Scars sounds groovier and a little darker than My Inner Burning," guitarist Torsten Sauerbrey explains. The reason? "Probably the many concerts we've played since, and the stronger influence of our vocalist Becky, who penned the occasionally rather sinister lyrics."
The group's musical direction shuns all clichés and half-baked trends. My Inner Burning consciously steer clear of that tried and tested 'faster - harder - louder' dictum, preferring to impress their audience with multi-faceted songs, deep-tuned guitars and great melodies which come across powerful and gentle at the same time. "We play unmistakable metal," says Sauerbrey, "but we like to include gothic, rock and pop music elements." Their listeners realise after a few bars that this dynamic sonic experience centres mainly on Becky Gaber.
The instruments are oriented to the vocalist, the songs owe their forcefulness to her voice. Eleven Scars sees Becky Gaber deliver eleven incisive stories - a clear reference to the album title - about broken friendship, unhappy love and other relationship dramas. "Eleven Scars is no concept album," says Sauerbrey, "but the record's lyrics definitely have a central theme." Which is one of the reasons why this album sounds extremely homogeneous.
The dynamic sound of Eleven Scars, which was recorded at the Metal Sound studio in Osterode/Harz and mixed by Sauerbrey, adds further to the excellent impression. The guitarist is generally one of the group's mainstays: he wrote the majority of the songs, and also took care of sound engineering and production. This extremely accomplished album is complemented by the excellent artwork courtesy of Hanover photographer Martin Huch, who has worked with stars such as the Scorpions, Heinz-Rudolf Kunze and BAP and created a particularly atmospheric cover motif which focuses on Becky Gaber. So top standards all the way for this band; the (probably not entirely unwanted) scars are bound to arrive in due course.

Born in 2000, SorrowStorm aimed to strengthen the worldwide unblack (Christian black metal) scene with limited initial success but strong determination, as funds to record and press albums were always low. Dysmorphic Records, the producer of this band, has made it a task to use sophisticated advertising, distribution, and promotion to make the best of the underground metal experience. Ogrus Storm (Phil Diez), began Sorrowstorm as a solo-project, and recorded the debut album "Caverns of Grief" at INSOMNIO studios in 2001, Republic of Panama. Torna a testi di canzoni
