08:34 - ScreamingSteelUS I've returned from tonight's show with a setlist from Mayhem, a pick from Watain's bassist, the new Mayhem and Rotting Christ, a Mayhem shirt, and vomit on my shoes from the guy next to me. Shook Necrobutcher's hand. Good show.
It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

The Canadian rock band was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early 1980s as an import before interest gradually declined. Today, the power trio continue to receive radio airplay on Classic Rock stations and are perhaps best remembered for their positive message songs and their vibrant energetic concerts, complete with extravagant pyrotechnical light shows. Their popularity was extremely strong in Texas, where they first received strong radio attention; but, they were stellar standouts at California's US Festival, and garnered a considerable fan base and radio attention by regularly touring the world, especially throughout North America and Europe. Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga.

The band combines Oud influenced oriental style, with many other symphonic elements and lyrics reflecting people's suffering in war zones and in exile. The Band's first album " The ghost of Zanoubia" was released in October 2015, and it brings together elements that are not very often used in Metal

Corvus is a Melodic Metal band from Ukraine. They released their debut album "Raven Rising" in 2012.

Royal Corvus band was formed in September 2005 and the first band name was Corvus. The name was borrowed from Latin, it translates - the Raven. It is a symbol of the wisdom in most ancient religions of the world. Raven is a carrier of souls across the River of Eternity and a binding link between the fragile edge of the World of Shadows and the World of the Living. Initially, the Corvus band was created as a melodic symphonic gothic metal project, but in the process of development and quality growth joins itself the best of the different trends and styles of rock. Now Royal Corvus band has created more than thirty Russian and English-language songs. Song's sound is very different: from romantic ballads to hard and progressive rock. And nobody of the listeners will not remain indifferent, because everyone will find something in this music for themselves. All this different musical styles are merged in one unique style - Corvus style. Besides his own works band plays covers of classic rock and pop songs. During its long history Royal Corvus band many times was engaged in various kinds of rock and bike festivals in Kharkov, and outside it. The Royal Corvus band received invitations and performed in support to rock stars as: Master, Sergey Mavrin, Epidemia, Catharsis, and vocalist of the legendary bands Rainbow and Deep Purple - Joe Lynn Turner. April 28, 2012 the Corvus band has presented their debut album - Raven Rising. October 24, 2012 Royal Corvus was official support group of SCORPIONS in Kharkov as part of the farewell tour "FINAL STING TOUR" .

Not quite a metal band, but seeing that other hard rock or glam bands are featured, I do not see why these guys shouldn't be here. Great White is one of the better bands from that thoroughly commercial movement of the 80s.

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Adrián Barilari with the keyboardist Hugo Bistolfi, who also left Rata Blanca in 1994, form Alianza, with many musicians sessions, which were the only members permanently was Barilari and Bistolfi. The duo explore ballads sound with more keyboard presence than Rata Blanca. Alianza did not have much impact in Argentina, but in other Latin American countries. They edited three albums Sueños del Mundo (1994), Alianza (1997), and Huellas (1999).

HEONIA is a Melodic Metal band from the North of France. The band is started in January 2006 by Thomas and Marieke.
They create HEONIA's first two compositions while they actively search for musicians to complete the band. These first pieces define HEONIA's style of music: a powerful Melodic Metal with touches of Prog and Death; female vocals which can be soft or stronger with, in addition, aggressive death metal voices…
Once the line-up is complete, HEONIA presents its music to people at a lot of gigs (opening for Kells (Fr), Misanthrope (Fr) or To-Mera (UK) in particular) in order to refine its music style and have the first impressions of the audience.
In November 2008, HEONIA releases its first EP self-produced in its entirety and named Simulacra. This one receives quite good reviews although a "home-made" production and is well received by the audience when the band presents it.
HEONIA continues logically on its way and records his debut album in 2009. The band wants, by this mean, to make people discover more in depth his musical universe with a professional sound. Winsome Scar is released in September 2010; its sound is rather dark, melodic and progressive.
Since June 2011, Rudy i not anymore Heonia's drummer. We are currently searching for a new drummer.

Amazing avantgarde band i've discovered recently, mixing jazz, slow & fast tempos with a thrashy druming and almost no vocals besides occasional screams, these guys will for sure deliver for avangarde metal fans!

This band formed in 2007 have been playing gigs with some international bands such as Therion, Ratablanca, Saratoga, ex-Scorpions, Agora, Over this time they have been working on original material which we see on the March 29th 2011 release of Revelations. I have been listening to Revelations for a couple of weeks and I want to share some of my favorite tracks:
The title track "Revelations" shows true power metal with massive (I mean massive) vocals from front man Alex "Zope" Gavilan and huge group harmonies. The song has a major pacing change around the half way mark that shows some excellent piano work. Coming out of the piano we see a heavier song and a true roller coaster of emotion. This was the first track I listened to and it was a great start.
"Ashes Brought to Life" shows the dramatic side of power metal with some intricate organ work over top of a very classic power metal sound. There is a well-placed time signature before the vocals that completely changes the song. Once again the vocals are huge and brought me back to my love of Symphony X and Lion's Share.
We experience a short instrumental that gives the band a chance to show their skills with their instruments. I included "Remaining in Silence" because when the instruments are competing with a voice like Zope they need a separate chance to shine. This track is very calming and a real pleasure to listen to. "Pleasure to listen to" isn't a phrase I get to use much in reference to metal. "Reaper of Souls" has some heavy keyboard work, but is another excellent example of how the classic power metal sound will never get old. When you do this sound well it resonates through your entire body and Ancestry accomplishes this over and over again.
When listening to Ancestry I started to wonder where they were from. I narrowed it down to Sweden, Norway, or Germany. Those three countries are pretty much were power metal dominates and massive tours originate. When dealing with power metal I find 99% of the time they hail from one of those three countries.
I wasn't even close; in fact, I was on the wrong side of the world. Ancestry hails from Mexico: Sand, tequila, beautiful oceans, and equally as beautiful women. I have covered many Mexican bands, but normally they are extreme death/black metal; so for some reason my brain could not comprehend that Mexico may have a power metal side as well. The band releases it's album for selling worldwide in 2012 having an amazing impact over, iTunes, Cd Baby, Amazon and Exporting it's material to Japan and having a SOLD OUT the first day it was been introduced in Osaka Japan, having reviews of it's material on Sweden, Spain , Usa and Latin America , I see an excelent future for this excelent band.

This radical Norwegian black metal band has been taking over the underground black metal scene in the northern parts of Norway. they also have many followers around the world, from Australia, across Europe and to the US. They have their own kind of 'sound' to their music, even though they claim to play classic norwegian black metal.

This band needs to be on Metal Storm!!!! With great intros and interludes, it makes ya wanna jump around and punch people in the face. Not to mention its pretty gosh darn technical with some of Brann Dailor's best drumming in my opinion. Please accept

Redneck Rampage are an active and rising southern metal band in Estonia. They are probably the only active band in Estonia to represent the southern metal style, and thus I thought it would be nice to present them here on Metal Storm. They released their debut album 'Shotgun Inc.' in April, 2013.

Fhoi Myore plays old-school and nature inspired black metal, reminiscent of gorgoroth and the french pagan scene.
They're releasing their first album and an EP after several years of existence (a demo, and a split with Darkenhöld), and do everything by themselves in their home studio, from drums to the mastering.
Here is some coverage about the EP: http://www.lurkerspath.com/2011/04/17/fhoi-myore-the-northern-cold/

As you can read about on their Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sleepy-Hollow/133313723032) as their official page still seems to be under construction, they released a demo in 1989 (which later was re-released in 2000 as ''A Legend Retold''), a full-length self-titled album in 1991 and a compilation ''1989-1992: Rest in Pieces'' in 2002, before coming inactive. But they've gotten back together and are releasing their second LP named ''Skull 13'' on the 23rd of March through Pure Steel Records. You can listen to the four songs of ''A Legend Retold'' on their MySpace page or their older stuff on Youtube, and they've also made a preview vid on Youtube featuring the final track, ''Midnight'', off their upcoming album Skull 13 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiwC7QkFYLM). Frankly, I think any fan of Judas Priest or Metal Church would love this band's stuff; their riffs are always raw and crunchy in true 80's metal style, and their singer, Bob Mitchell, could give a golden-era David Wayne a run for his money. Give 'em a listen.

Well, they are a good band formed in millions years ago. Most likely this band is going to be added anyway, because Doc Godin has the brand new album in the reviews queue list. Winter Of Sin '92 consists of swell sounds. After that came out their second album Silence '94. which is interesting as well. Their new album comes out pretty soon, if not out already. This band is from Italy, it is very hard to get the word spread out and this is the kind of site to do it. It's not about making money, but it's about getting people to listen to something fresh, and this might just be something fresh. They released their full length debut album on the 18th of Feb 2012, and you can find it on all major digital stores and spotify or you can order it from whereever in the world directly from the shop on the website.

Formed in 2001 by vocalist/guitarist L. Mysterion and drummer Odhinnskriger, Mysteriarch wasted little time establishing a powerful and unique style of black metal. Drawing inspiration from the occult, as well as humanity's mystery traditions and the hidden aspects of existence, Mysteriarch quickly became a driving force of the underground metal scene of their hometown of Charlotte, N.C., and by extension the burgeoning regional metal scene of the southeastern United States. The band released the EP "Renaissance of the Maelstrom" in 2004 to a loyal and enthusiastic fan base, garnering praise and positive reviews among the underground metal community.
After several years of extensive gigging and line-up changes, 2007 heralded the release of the band's debut full-length, "The Majestic Fall" on Ophiucus Records. Further establishing Mysteriarch's reputation among the underground metal elite, they began to fully come into their own both artistically and ideologically.
In 2011 Mysteriarch secured a deal with U.S. label Razed Soul Productions to release their 2nd full-length album "Mournful Embrace of Aeons" along with a re-release of the debut full-length album and EP.
Mysteriarch have shared the stage with elite acts such as Absu, Blood Stained Dusk, Chthonic, Epica, Krieg, Manticore, Mayhem, Rotting Christ, Sothis and many more.
With a current dedicated line-up, Mysteriarch continues to push its sound and live performance, crossing boundaries into realms unknown and expanding the limits of musical expression.

Unsane is an influential noise rock trio that formed in New York City in 1988. New York City's Unsane assisted in pioneering a more aggressive, less studied version of noise rock. Their music also touches on elements of hardcore punk and metal. While developing the blueprint for noise-metal bands to follow, Unsane cut a remarkable swath through underground music, inspiring a devoted, cult-like following around the globe.

Even if the band has some less metal moments at times, I definitely believe this band has been influential on the metal/hardcore scene as many of their songs would fit right in on say a compilation featuring bands like Converge and Every Time I Die.

Ruined is a one man band behind mastermind, Pyha. Hailing from South Korea, Ruined is currently under the tUMULt Label . Five full length LP's have been made, The Haunted House maybe the best album of them all. I think it deserves to be in the database.

They should be on metalstorm because they are a upcoming Thrash Metal band that seems to have potential, based on their live perfomances such as Vermin and Terror Takes Shape, and by the looks of their new album Fearful Symmetry, they look as if they're ready to rise.
