It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Kudos for un-blacklisting them! Let's open our minds!
They play live in metal festivals, have members from other metal bands in Japan (check the bio of their band members), and, on top of all, are actually a pretty decent group.
03.11.2014 - Ruchesko
They were un-blacklisted? Kudos, MS. - The touring band don't lack metal cred either - guitarist #1 tours with Marty Friedman and guitarist #2 is Galneryus's ex-bassist

AraPacis (Ara-Patches) is a female fronted metal band hailing from Montreal, Canada. Formed in 2003 by guitarist Jerry Fielden, their main goal was to re-create some of the orignal aspects of 1970's Hard Rock and Progressive Rock and fuse it together with early 21st Century Progressive, Doom & Gothic Metal to make an interesting metal hybrid. Their debut album ''So Many Leapers'' was released in April of 2006. and their second album ''Consequences Of Dreams'' was released on October 5, 2009. The band is now working on their 3rd album.
22.04.2011 - Jerryfie
AraPacis is more Classic/Prog Metal than Metalcore, AraPacis has shared the stage with The Agonist, Raven and Anvil, amongst other bands.

Not metalcore... somethin' else. Appeared with the closing track on this femme-metal (voices) compilation http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/album.php?album_id=32808 Third album 'Netherworld' released end of 2011 on Ravenheart Music, and 'Déjà-Vu' EP self-released at end of March, this year (now available for free DL from the band's site, along with about six other older songs) (it appears DV EP is 4 re-recordings of older songs - so you can hear So Many Leapers' title-track twice, and find the advances they've made over 7 years)

Adrián Barilari with the keyboardist Hugo Bistolfi, who also left Rata Blanca in 1994, form Alianza, with many musicians sessions, which were the only members permanently was Barilari and Bistolfi. As all the emergent bands that were invited to the Macabre Chile Fest II, we were ready to accept that we must pay our passages, besides, together with Batakazzo, to have the difficult mission to touch after a tremendous band as Pestilence, at 2:00 a.m., and then to remain in tent, since the organization has not resources to offer to him housing to so many band.

Really awesome instrumental band. The music itself sounds most similar to technical death metal, as well as being quite experimental, jazzy and progressive. Plenty of amazing guitar solo's. Check out their new album "An Abstract Existence".

Biography (Copied from their page): Burial Hordes began back in 2001. Behind this new hell born were Nightspirit and N.e.c.r.o. The idea was to create a Black fucking Metal band with both live and studio recording activity, influenced from bands like Bathory, Possessed, Venom and many other great bands, which follow the same sound and ideology. In 2001 the band released "Entering the Untrodden Forest" Demo CD which was a homemade recording. The band gave some live concerts and after two years recorded the second demo CD, called "Mors Luminis" (line-up: NightSpirit - vocals, N.e.c.r.o - guitars/bass, Psychaos - guitars/bass, Erevos - drums,). Both demos were released in cult tape by "Nigra Mortis Records" (limited to 666 copies). In 2004 Cthonos became the new voice of Burial Hordes and Impaler took the place behind the drums. The next year Burial Hordes recorded a promo release with two tracks, called "Bestial Bloodwar", this stuff was used for the split release "Total Gathering of Supremacy" with Eschaton. Before the end of 2005 Burial Hordes recorded their debut album, "War Revenge and Total Annihilation". Ten tracks of aggressive old school Black Metal with no compromise. "Oath Records" and "Asphyxiate Recordings" released the debut of Burial Hordes in CD version. "Atolinga Records" pressed the tape edition. In 2008 Burial Hordes signed a deal with "Pulverised Records". The label re-pressed the "War, Revenge…" debut in a special digipack CD version.

The Long Cold Dark is an American heavy metal band from Buffalo, NY, who are serious about their business. That business is creating original aggressive metal that takes a traditional stance and runs with it in their own direction. Formed in 2008 Drew Celestino (guitar/vocals), Jason Oberg (guitar), Mitch Krieger (percussion), and Phil "Pusbert Headington III" Boyle (bass) released their debut self-titled album in 2010 which defines the TLCD sound. Barbarically heavy handed riffs over top of pulverizing drums are at the heart of that sound. Underneath that threatening exterior lies a soaring and droning melodic style that is always driven home by Celestino's forceful vocal style. Phil's commitments in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio have brought new bassist Adam Malone into the fold. These guys are focused and fine tuned, and they back up their recorded sound with a high-energy live show. They walk the path and represent the "Queen City" of Buffalo in a way that only defiant blue collar native sons could.

In late 2002 Mike Maney (lead guitar, vocals) and Jason Sunkes (rhythm guitar), of Victory recording artists STIGMATA, who also have toured all over the world. Joined forces with Dan Dinsmore (drums) and Brendon Slater (bass) of THE CLAY PEOPLE (Featured on both Universal Soldier & Strangeland sountracks, countless tours) to form DEAD RABBITS. Although the band already existed 2 years prior with Maney as the only member, playing all instruments and self producing a demo. It did not take long for the others to come aboard to bring this rock monster known as DEAD RABBITS to life! Playing numorous live shows with the likes of HIGH ON FIRE, ANDREW WK, and a long list of others . DEAD RABBITS decided it was time to record the first record. They hit the studio, seeking the help of friend/engineer Bret(t) Portzer Max Trax Studios Albany NY, to record drum tracks. The rest would be tracked at Maneys Saratoga NY Home/Studio. Thus "sin eater would be spawned. -DEAD RABBITS sin eater has been described as .. -LYNYRD SKYNYRD on Steroids -The brutality of metal and the charm of southern rock . -"Frankenstien with a wrecking ball!-heavily sabbath influenced confrontational hard rock!

The idea arises on March 13, 1993 and is not until July of the same year that one forms the band, with the founders Lázaro Antonio Ceballos: guitarist, member, composer and direction, and to Osvaldo Vieites as drummer.
They devote themselves for then to test hardly, in a line metalera that includes from the trash up to the death metal, mounting his own material and trying several guitarists and bassists, stabilizing to the end the alignment with Yaroski Corredera in the leading guitar and Erich Gómez to under, giving his first concerts with great acceptance of the public.
In August, 1994 they edit his first demo My World Uncures, that was recorded in the Ulises Home Studios of the distribution Luyano, On October 10, City of Havana.

Mordor was formed as official band in August, 2009 with Erwin's entry to the group. In this moment the members were Dayron, Alejandro and in the low Ariel. The line of composition of the group was on the Viking Metal and War Metal, touching on sequenced battery.
In January, 2010 Ariel leaves the band and enters his place Alayn in under. In February Jose Darry joins in the battery and in April Eve with the flute, the current format being reached. The letters and the folklore in general of the group are strongly inspired by J. R.'s Tolkien work, almost all the lyrics narrate passages of " The Master of the Rings ". The group uses artistic nicknames of mythical prominent figures of this work, besides makeups of war in the concerts and occasionally spectacles of pyrotechnics.
