It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

They have a nice progressive metal sound, I think it's quite distinct. Their music is inspired and talented. They have released at least 1 CD so far. I think they have a successful future if they continue in this direction. It should be included here on Metal Storm. (Though I couldn't find their official website.)

SHAMALL is the moniker used by German composer and multi-instrumentalist Norbert Krueler, a highly influential DJ in Germany by trade and a passionate part-time musician to boot.
His first artistic creations came to be in 1986, at that time heavily tinged by various forms of mainstream electronic music. His first ventures were rather successful from a commercial point of view, but Krueler's artistic aspirations weren't totally satisfied by these first creations. As a long time fan of bands like Pink Floyd, Marillion as well as the Krautrock of his native Germany, his works slowly but steadily started incorporating more and more of these influences in his musical endeavours - with a particular emphasis on Pink Floyd.
In the last few years a somewhat stronger emphasis on acoustic instruments have been added to his musical palette, along with the inclusion of Krautrock -inspired musical elements.

2007 product of UK Thrash scene that year but always against the grain and barely fitted in. Spotted by Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir etc) supporting Napalm in the midlands and dragged into the studio to record an EP called Saltergate in 08 - widley acclaimed and received. Limited shows since but now have an album on the way to be recorded with Russ and released in 2012. Could be very exciting release.

A great new band. A perfect fit for MS. Personally I think this band has created one of the (maybe) best album of 2011. Cold Moon Over Babylon. Let's welcome Vulvagun to MS folks.

The band sites their style as 'Majestic orchestral doom with choirs, death, gothic, funeral doom and power metal influences'. Clean male and female vocals exist along with male grunts. The band has made one album 'Serpentine Dreamweaver' (2000) featuring Katarina Lilja of Therion, and a demo 'Shattered Fields' (2002).

Side project of Root's boss Big Boss is full of original, experimental, but still highly enjoyable songwriting. Whole project is based on the monstrous sci-fi/fantasy/mythical story about the mage Equirhodont. Epic atmosphere is guaranted.

Avenie is an atmospheric melodic metal band from Tampere, Finland. The bands history is too colourfull to discuss shortly, but at the present, the band consists of three members, Matti Auerkallio (Vocals/Guitars/Drums), Felipe Muñoz (Keyboards) and Marko Eskola (Lead Vocals). The live line-up is completed by three session members.

The best Polish pagan black metal band from Lublin, formed in 1991. The most recent full-length album "Trioditis" (2010) simply crushed me... Abusiveness existed in the deep underground. There isn't MySpace page or even official website, so check out this band on youtube.

Because this is a metal site and we are metal!!!
Death/ Gore Metal band from Portland, Goregon.
Dead In A Ditch was formed by Tony Avila in 2008 and was on hold until now!
Musically Dead In A Ditch is a continuation of Eulogy (Sacto, PDX). Eulogy (Sacto, PDX) being a Death/ Gore Metal band who has primarily low guttural vocals mixed with high pitched screeching similar to At The Gates, The Accused, Carcass or Kreator. Eulogy mixed many different styles to create a unique sound all their own. The lyrical content is generally about murder, serial killers, plagues, religion, etc. The Eulogy (Sacto, PDX) name HAD to be changed due to the fact that there was already a Death Metal band from Florida called that who was signed, put out records and toured. Eulogy (Sacto, PDX) had already put out a 7" Vinyl Record, a Demo Tape and had full color shirts printed up before we were informed of the Florida Eulogy. There are also a ton of other bands named Eulogy. So it was time for a change.... a fresh start.
Dead In A Ditch is influenced by bands such as Eulogy, Brutal Truth, Carcass, Napalm Death, Slayer, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, The Accused, Scenes From The Struggle, Samhain, Death, At The Gates, Kreator, Nausea.
The band consists of Tony Avila (vocals, guitar) & Tony Papasadero (bass guitar, vocals) and Pierce Williams on drums.
Dead In A Ditch is aiming at recording 10-15 songs mainly consisting of early Eulogy material and a few new songs written. Once this album is completed we will do some light touring and start on the next record.

Sea Of Dreams is a new Norwegian progressive/power metal band. Their debut, self-financed album, Dawn Of Time, shows a strong mid-period Helloween influence in the song structures, while a greater use of keyboards gives a slight Dream Theater touch to their sound. The vocalist sounds like a higher-pitched version of Michael Kiske -- he sings quite high, just on the touch of being shrill at times, but usually he holds his own with the general high musicianship of the rest of the band. The band's second album, Land Of Flames, has just been released.

Mundanus Imperium initially started out in Hamar, Norway in late 1994, when Lars "Grond" Wiik (drums, bass, guitars and vocals) and Bent "Draug Hate" Holm, created the band Nattefall. In 1996 they recorded their first and only demo tape 'Ode To The Nightsky" at X-Ray Studios. The demo received great response around the world and sold about 300 copies in the first months. During this period a record company called Velvet Music showed great interest in the band, and wanted to put the demo tape on CD. The band agreed to that knowing that this was a good opportunity to promote their new band name Mundanus Imperium to the world. In May 1997 the mini CD with three songs, was released. Mundanus Imperium then signed a contract with the Italian label Avantgarde Music for the release of their debut album, 'The Spectral Spheres Coronation'. They now needed to expand their line-up, so they hired Jørn Lande (Vagabond, Masterplan, ARK etc.) on vocals and Petter J. Thuve on guitar. 'The Spectral Spheres Coronation' was released in 1998. They were now signed to the major label Nuclear Blast.
