It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

First of all to complete your list of bands. Then, because it's a really good one! They already played with bands like Gojira, Trepalium... Finally, they were born in 2003 so I think they deserve to be on this french bands list.

Formed in London Ontario in late 2007, Before The Damned began as a loose writing/drinking experiment between friends John Patterson (Vocals), Pete Mitchell (Bass), and Paul Sguazzin (Guitar). After putting together a few demo's they recruited Ryan Rivard on Drums and recorded their debut album "Unanimosity" (that featured a guest appearance of Tara McLeod of Kittie) which can be described as a modern day nod to the old school.

Black Spiders is a great new band. They're playing at some big festivals this year (Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium), Sonisphere Knebworth (UK)). Their latest album 'Sons of the North' is a very good album. One of the best new metal bands.

Agree with the above comment saw them at Sonisphere and also supporting Volbeat last week. Very good Metal Band.

They are quite good Death Metal band that plays technically, though old school touched Death Metal, finished with blasphemous but ad rem solos.Toxocara is known for it's energetic and powerful live performances. The list of past shows is impressive. Toxocara played throughout the Netherlands with a.o. Pungent Stench, Krisiun, Grave and Immolation. Last year Toxocara played the London Death fest with Master and in 2007 the Neurotic Deathfest was honored to have Toxocara on their impressive line-up.
So i think this is quite a capable band to be featured on metal storm although they are mostly underground, but quite well know in The netherlands.

Putamen Insula is a band that stands out from the typical black metal bands from Québec.
It is extremely agressive & the lyrical contents are more "punk" oriented; beer, sex, death, through lyrics full of sarcasm.
Putamen Insula - Jam 2010 (50 tape cassette copies available)
Putamen Insula - Putamen Insula (full length, will be released july 9th 2011)
21.05.2011 - Pyramid God
In addition to producing some pretty decent music with an obviously low budget, members of this band went on to form Between the Buried and Me, an influential band in their own right.
23.05.2011 - DjentDude
The Black Dahlia Murder cites this band as a major influence.
13.01.2013 - Uldreth
Hardly surprising, since this was pretty much the first melodic metalcore band.

A legend in their native Colombia, Entropia merges the worlds of eclectic, complex technical metal with modern prog and snippets of the Latin music scene, from traditional to popular, to create a catchy, diverse, heavy and always innovative approach. Debut "Simetria" is available as a free download.

Rather like Solstice, Ripping Corpse or Disincarnate, this seems to be a forgotten outfit of OSDM from New Jersey. John McEntee (Incantation, Funerus) played guitars in their early demo days, '86 to '89, leaving before their ONE album 'Prophecies of a Dying World' came out in '91 on NUCLEAR BLAST. Three EPs were also released, the latest being entitled 'Overman' recorded in 1995, mixed in 2001 by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, ex-Ripping Corpse + 2 stints in mid-era Morbid Angel) and independently released in '02. A collection of demo/EP/non-album material was put out in 2005 by Xtreem Music with the name The Burning Ground - an mp3 download of the title track (taken from '92) can be found on xtreemmusic.com in the appropriate section. You may or may not wish to check http://www.geocities.ws/revenant076/news.html (if it still exists...)

The man behind Abramakabra is Steven Abram and he is a Italian, American composer and this album is nothing short of a revelation, I had never heard of the band till about a month ago and this album is without a doubt one of the strangest albums recorded in the last few years. I know nothing about Steven and his previous work but I do know that one this album he plays guitars, bass, drums, percussion, piano and all also supply's a array of noises and effects. This is a weird mix of Ufomammut, Sunn O))), Electric Wizard, Kyuss, Neurosis and 70's Space Rock sounds. Its a strange hybrid of doom, drone and psychedelia that is experimental and varied to the point where reviewing this album is a real challenge. As well as his multi-talented self, Steven also enlists the help of guest musicians Vincent J Matthews, Angelo and Savior Goldwin Keyla Northon, the last of which is cited as prominent members of the New York noise scene.
