It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Formed back in the year 1999 in Lyon (France), AKIN released its first demo CD "Stanzas", the next year : reviewed as demo of the month in Hard N'Heavy and Rock Hard Magazine in January 2001, it enabled the band to sign up with Sacral Productions.
"Verse" (2001), AKIN's debut album (based on the work of E.A.Poe) and then "Forecast" (EP - 2003) were both reviewed in the french metal press as being part of the top albums of the year of their release.
Such positive write-ups gave the band the opportunity to open for WITHIN TEMPTATION, DARK TRANQUILLITY, EPICA and THE OLD DEAD TREE in 2002 and 2003.
After a long off-peak period, AKIN got back to work in 2009 with a string quartet at its side and is currently finishing to record its second LP, "The way things end".

They are an amazing Russian Power Metal band, came together from their vocalist, whose ex-Epidemia's vocalist.
Myself, I have no connection to the band, but I love them, and I can support as much information as possible.
They have released 5 albums. (!)
Besides that, Metal Storm should have the lot of the global Metal bands.
Just take a listen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZtjPlmXmjo&NR=1

I don't like their music personally but they are a decent band so... Why not?

A great post-hardcore combo, their first full-lenght release, titled Thousand Floors, deserves more than local acknowledgements...their passion for claustrophobic,razor-sharp sound, combined with high level musicians' skills and live experiences, have made their music a rare jewel in the indie-rock,self produced panorama...horns up!

This band needs to be on here because they make some angry and fast death/thrash! Their first album is very promising. Also, this site needs more bands coming from Central America. There aren't many bands coming up from this region of the world anyway.
02.06.2011 - Sleeping Dragon
Nearly unheard-of band that worked with the Mexican Orchestra on their only album so far... I'm taking the time to suggest them because their album is ridiculously, almost suspiciously, well-composed. No extremely harsh vocals, but plenty of fast drumming. Kinda reminds me of old school Tristania, without the male growls, and with more symphonic elements.
01.06.2011 - The Voyager
Have released one self-titled album thus far, with songs in the works for a follow-up. I think it's really good instrumental stuff, very heavy at times with some acoustic folky interludes. Vote up if you like it.

Led by a female singer perfectly at ease in such different registers as lyric, rock or thrash, SOULMAKER delivers a melodic and varied brand of metal. The band's songs are accessible to most, as they never take the extreme road. From the type of classical Heavy Metal the band were playing when they were first started, they only kept melodies, and prefer relying on efficiency rather than technical demonstration to build to-the-point songs, meant to be played on stage. On the live front, with about forty dates under their belt, SOULMAKER never cheats and delivers the goods in an energetic manner

Diary of Destruction is a melodic metal band of Lille formed at the end of 2007 with the meeting of 4 friends coming from different musical horizons.
It allies a powerful and intoxicating singing to incisive riffs sublimated by gothic tones.
The band tries ceaselessly to improve the alchemy of the sweetness and the bewitchment of singing with the power of its guitars and its drums.
Diary of Destruction is a metaphor based on the personal diary (symbol of the recession) and of the Destruction (representing the rough, impulsive aspect of the man).
At the beginning of 2009, the band takes out an eponymic demo of 3 titles and realizes a serie of concerts France and in Belgium to make discover its music.
Strong of this experience, the band works on its first EP adding grunts, soloes of guitar and drums more in adequacy with the ambitions of the band.
An Ep 6 titles named Outside the Shade is released on november 2nd, 2010 .
The first album is in preparation, and planned for 2012 !

My Last Nerve is a metal band from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. We are somewhat of a "throwback" if you will, to old-school roots like Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Testament with a drop-tuned power groove mixed in. We just released our full-length debut album called The Beginning of The End and it just went live on ITunes and 40 other online retailers this month. We're looking for some feedback and possibly a chance to network with some of the bands and fans out there that still think HEAVY METAL RULES!

This band realized only one album, in 1998, "Space Eternal Void". Here we are in front of the umpteenth lost gem: if it's metal, symphonic or progressive doesn't matter, this is great music, played by a group of great musicians, who, incredibly, were able to make only one album! And yet another demonstration of how music business is rotten, and how low is the level of musical culture worldwide, especially many of the new generation! I think that any person who really love music, and from music is able to draw any strong feelings, should appreciate the power, emotion, instrumental technique, inventiveness and symphonic imprint of this album. All songs are wonderful, particularly to mention the great melody of Endless Cosmos, the lyricism of Shadows Fall, the horror climate of The Slow Prisoners and the symphony of Darkness Planet Earth. A forgotten masterpiece.
27.05.2011 - DeathMetal
This band should be on Metalstorm because of where they are from. An area with a growing metal scene that is unknown to most. Besides being being a great band, it would be awesome to see such a good band get reconized by more and more people to help metal scenes in less popular parts of the world grow.
