It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt
very good...I also listened to a preview of their third album, really nice ...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Because they're 10 times better than most of the bands on here. They're just starting out and so don't yet have a singer but they already have an instrumental sound that's not quite like anything I've ever heard before. At the very least they can get some publicity by being suggested here.
28.08.2011 - btbamfan20
This guy is cool, he has mostly done country, but decided bout 5 years ago he wanted to play heavy music, so he started fusing his country style into punk, metal, and rock. He is releasing 4 albums on september 2nd, 3 of them are metal/punk and the other is his country release. Definately should be added!

Fuck yeah. Hank III is the man.

Wolfsbane is a great band. And with a new album to be unleashed. I think we should welcome Wolfsbane to the MS society.
25.06.2012 - Dedcalm
I was so surprised when i realised Wolfsbane were not already on MS. They were a top rated metal band in the 80's and now they are back. They are definatly deserving of a place here.

When Jamie Graham (vocals) left Sylosis he joined Heart of a Coward. Its mostly a metalcore with progressive (mainly Djent) influences. Their debut full length Hope and Hindrance was released May 28th

Bobnoxious are a hard-rock band from London, Ontario. Their exact style varies quite a bit, from hard-rock, punk to groove-thrash metal. To date they have five albums, one of them being a rather humorous Christmas album.

The project, originally formed as LOOSIN'o'FREQUENCIES(which released a mcd produced by Doom Guru Paul Chain)was born from Alessandro"Drugo"
Santori and Roberto Malerba.
After sessioning many musicians and haven't found a suitable voice in 2004, both the guys decided to turn the band into instrumental and call it L'ira del Baccano.
Once the vocal search was over, the guys found Sandro"Fred" Salvi and ...Massimo"Max" to fill the line up and meet doom influences, 60'70's psychedelia and the performing freedom of jam bands such as
The resulting long tracks, in constant evolution and movement, fund every song on a solid base and open seasons for improvisation.
Each song is recognisable but will display unique colours.
The stage is the best site to express l'Ira Del Baccano's music.
Every song was in fact recorded live.
On stage, L'ira del Baccano play all their music masses aiming to bring the public to a new trip, at every concert.
In summer 2008 the band release their first album "Si non sedes is…Live".

Pandora's Toybox draws influence from numerous metal, and blends it with the satirical, blended gothic rock that has defined its sound. For the parody value, as well as some potentially enjoyable music, Pandora's Toybox should have its place on Metal Storm.
23.08.2011 - MorteMcAdaver
Though defunct, Sorrowseed brought forth a double album called the Extinction Prophecies that contains a wide variety of metal styles filtered through a doom-tinted lens. The Prophecies should be shared and spread far and wide to all who would hear them.

Ocean Of Ghosts was created in the fall of 2008 and comes from the mind, mouth, and fingertips of Forrest Cutrer. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Ocean Of Ghosts traverses the sonic landscape and enters a world where sound and physical being exist as one tangible entity.
The first album, "Life In The Desert," is a half-hour long single track, stretching across noise, ambient, drone, and doom metal, invoking the mind-numbing depression of burning to death in a hell on Earth. A firm believer in the freedom of music, Forrest has taken to placing burned copies of this album in various spots for free around town, and offers to send a free copy to anyone who asks for one via the Ocean Of Ghosts Myspace page.
A second album, entitled "Loss And Numbness" is available to download at http://oceanofghosts.bandcamp.com/album/loss-and-numbness

"The "World of OMNIA" is filled with the sound of pure acoustic European Roots Music. OMNIA's original compositions are like the fresh sea breeze caressing your face and blowing the cobwebs from your mind. They stand tall like a mountain, yet remain as fragile as a tiny flower. Strong as the mighty oak, yet graceful as the butterfly fluttering within it's protective branches." I think that these words give the best description of this wonderful music...

We have Tenhi, so why the hell not this as well :) +1 from me.

A duo from Boston, featuring Keith Smith (vocals, guitar) and Adam von Buhler (lead guitar, bass, drums, other). They gained a lot attention from their music being featured in the Guitar Hero and Rock Band video game series, usually as bonus tracks. Their style is usually discribed as a blend of hard rock, electronic and metal.

Pessimist: A brutal death/black metal band from the USA, 2: a German thrash metal band and 3: a Czech progressive death metal band. 1. Pessimist (USA) formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 1993 and are recognizable for their unique brand of technical black / death metal with old-school thrash influences. The original lineup of the band included founding members Kelly McLauchlin (guitars), Rob Kline (vocals), and brothers Chris and Tony Pernia (drums and bass, respectively).
14.09.2011 - Tatras
To low attention about Pessimist. 3 Long-Lenght albums that they recorded are simply crushing and incredible.
