It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".
18.06.2013 - IronArkadius666
The band features 3 members from Isis, another post metal band already on MS, and the vocalist of Deftones.
It is more post-like than Isis and not quite as heavy, but it definitely deserves a place on MS, as it is reminiscent of bands like AtomA.
I believe that a lot of fans of bands like Isis, AtomA, Enshine, Aoria and other bands in that vein of music will greatly appreciate this band.
29.06.2013 - SyFFiLiS
"Heavy, stargazing rock outfit Palms was forged out of an explosive collision, as Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno joined forces with critically-lauded post-metal group ISIS". This should be enough said to add this band on MS.
04.07.2013 - tea[m]ster
Album is fantastic, put it on here!
07.07.2013 - Unhealer
Liking this album more and more each listen!
28.07.2013 - psykometal
Didn't hear any metal in this at all when I listened.
03.10.2013 - 3rdWorld
-1. And i do agree with Mr.Database manager. There isn't any metal in this at all. No need to die to get it added in here, cuz this doesn't deserve a place here. Not to mention their really crappy and bland debut. Pfft. >:(
24.10.2013 - ScreamingSteelUS
I don't understand why people insist on associating post-rock with metal. There is no metal here.
29.12.2013 - Zaphod
Agreed, no reason to be on MS. Then again, they added Anneke Van Giersbergen just because she has been in metal bands...
24.05.2012 - The Benighted
Corelia are a burgeoning progressive/technical metal band with a single EP under their belts. With a sound not unlike Protest the Hero and The Human Abstract, they've come across some especially interesting ideas along the way, with a stunning selection of songs, to boot. 'Nostalgia' was released in 2011, and I've been listening ever since. Highly recommended.
09.09.2013 - LeKiwi
Not unlike Periphery's heavier moments...not bad
02.10.2013 - BaneConall
They are working on a full length now. Hopefully soon.
17.03.2014 - Dead In Hell
I have to say, the sound IS unlike Protest the Hero. The only way these bands sound alike is if you've never heard progressive metal before. Corelia is doing something entirely different, something that is much more amenable to fans of the genre and not just tweens taking a break from their Miley Cyrus playlists.
Anyway, Corelia deserves to be included on the site. Nostalgia is a phenomenal release that has garnered the band a lot of well-deserved attention and acclaim. If the upcoming album is of the same quality, it's going to take the genre by storm.
02.12.2009 - Bastard Child
London based and out to offend everyone. Featuring members of Damnas and Inner Rage River Frehney have terrorized the UK underground with their no holds bar offensive comedy and hardcore thrash. Have played with ArnoCorps, Ring Wrom and Evile, toured with Nebukadnezza and have a number of EP's released.
05.06.2013 - psykometal
Needs at least one full length.
24.03.2014 - Northern Danger
Psyko why? In metalstorm we have so many bands who have only EPs and splits. I think that's no condition....
27.01.2010 - ArcticWolf
Fastway are a British heavy metal band formed by guitarist, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, formerly of Motörhead, and bassist, Pete Way, formerly of UFO.
Don't think I need more reasons to explain why the band needs to be part of MS? Do You? I bet most of Motörhead and UFO fans are familiar with Fastway or know something about the band.
In addition, I am not able to find there official site, however I provided a link to there myspace page.
27.01.2010 - DayFly
AOR of the sticky, shmalzy kind
24.10.2013 - onedh
Fastway should be included in metalstorm.com ASAP. "Fast" Eddie Clarke delivers atrue amount of oldschool Heavy Metal. Also this band has been an influence for many other bands.
20.03.2009 - Yossarian
Info in English here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Suaves
They should be here as Spain is a kind of important country as regards metal fans and this band is together with another 4 or 5 the most famous hard rock and rock band in the territory. Above all from Madrid northwards. They only reason why outsiders don't know them is the fact that they sing in Spanish. Otherwise, they would be popular enough for you.
Their music style is quite similar to The Ramones, Motorhead...The voice is let's say "peculiar". They are still active after 28 years and still selling out venues.
Their website appears to be in maintenance now.
12.06.2011 - SceneryOfLoss
Stamina is a french metal band founded by the keyboardist Gildas Vijay ROUSSEAU. In 2006 they released their debut album "Mess'Age" and currently work on the second album "Via Crucis".
10.04.2013 - JefferyTotterdell
Great up and coming band, with a bit of reggae and Latin mixed in, which is groovy
First Ep of three albums and the progression is really good.
These types of bands have been doing really well lately.
But the music tells the real story so have a listen, a few live performances on YouTube.
27.03.2014 - Giza
Amazing Progressive/Alternative Metal band. Sounds like a mix of Meshuggah and Faith No More.
13.07.2012 - Steve Rowland
This is a pretty good band from Québec. They're pretty well known and good in the genre. I'm actually surprised this band isn't on this site already. A listen to this song should help convincing you :
21.02.2014 - The Evergreen
+1, and I too am surprised to find them in the list of sugestions.

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.
28.07.2013 - psykometal
Needs at least one full length.
24.11.2013 - LeKiwi
Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.
03.03.2010 - FrostFlame
Slash's Snakepit was a rock band which was a side-project formed by then-Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash (Saul Hudson) in 1994. On their first album, Matt Sorum (drums), Gilby Clarke (rhythm guitar) and Dizzy Reed (keyboard) from Guns N' Roses played in this band. On bass was Mike Inez of Alice in Chains and Eric Dover (who had previously played guitar for Jellyfish) sang lead vocals.
GN'R colleague Teddy Andreadis also appeared on the record playing harmonica & keyboards.
03.03.2010 - DayFly
Honestly, this stuff has too much boogie to call it metal. Maybe if Aerosmith were here...
30.12.2009 - drpaxton
This band is worth listening to to all who like heavy music. They play a very unique kind of music, you can call it alternative rock, or hard rock, with one the most talented lead singers out there.
15.03.2011 - WingedOctopi
Amazing band, fans of Tool should like this.
05.01.2012 - hadriel
This band needs to be added. Similar bands like dredg and Fair to Midland have been added to the site, rightfully so should these guys. Not to mention that their music is stellar! ;)
12.04.2012 - Nicoline
With 2,4 million listens registered on last.fm, this band cannot be ignored. I hope to read reviews and updates on Rishloo from MS in the future.
05.12.2010 - Grave Digger 87
Lutomysl doesn't have a website or a myspace, so that myspace link is a fan page. They have a pritty intense heavy style, kind of depressive sometimes too. There is only 6 bands from Ukraine on MS! Thats gotta change, hehehe.
Edit: Lutomysl does have a myspace now, http://www.myspace.com/lutomyslofficial
27.12.2012 - LaineJ
Great band, one of my favourite bm band
05.04.2013 - DarkSymphony500
Atmospheric/Doom Metal band with gothic influences. They get the influences from bands such as Draconian, Agalloch, Shape of Despair, Saturnus and Tristania. They have released 2 EPs and a full-length album 'Errances' (2012).
22.03.2014 - RavenV.
Exceptionally atmopsheric doom band. Hope they will be soon part of the database.
24.02.2009 - warlock84
We are a young band trying to get our name out there and believe this site is a great tool to help with that. We are a true metal band, not that nu-metal or radio friendly junk. We all grew up listening to bands like Pantera, Slayer, Iced Earth, Testament, Kataklysm, Amon Amarth, etc and strive to bring back the old school heavy metal. We hope to record a demo this year and any press, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.
08.06.2011 - in GRAVE
they are a good progressive metal band and they are influenced in dream theater and symphony x
16.05.2012 - Oracles
There one of those hidden European Prog Metal bands that are from a country who produces little to zero good metal bands and they signed with an unknown record company that is making them go unnoticed. But if everything goes good, this band has immense future. Their major influence is Dream Theater.
Tree of Life ,
The Land of Lights.
All of which you can find on youtube.
22.01.2011 - studio9hz
They play an awesome mix of psychedelic progressive post rock/metal - a cross between Down, Porcupine Tree and Tool. It would be helpful for them to promote their music, as they are a young band.
22.01.2011 - BlckMtlMelodies
Had never heard of them until here. Guitars are interesting as hell. Nice concept for this Moria's Lake.
23.01.2011 - Syk
Formerly. In the past = former, opposite of future. Formal is the opposite of informal, and refers to writing or speech etc. in important settings such as college papers and news reports
23.01.2011 - The Voyager
Band was formerly known as Envy, not the band that is currently featured here as Envy. They deserve a spot on Metal Storm because the music is great, plain and simple. They have three albums: Sweet Painful Reality, Empyreal Progeny, and Moira's Lake. Moira's Lake is available for free download in it's entirety on their website, so there's no excuse for you to not at least check them out.
20.01.2011 - kinder
Great young band with bright future, playing awesome thrash stuff. They are going to relase their first album soon.. KomutatoR relased 1 demo (Killing Madness) and 1 Live(Kinning in Madness). They play concerts in whole Poland, sometimes in Czech Republic. They shared stage with bands like Crionics, Virgin Snatch or Christ Agony.
19.01.2011 - AmateuRecordings
Never Ending Hate is a band of style Death Metal, which takes the trends of the Melodic Death Metal, Technical Death Metal and slight touches Hardcore, and it amalgamates in their sounds as an hybrid of these. Similar and influenced to bands of the same genre like Death, At The Gates, Necrophagist, Opeth, Theory In Practice, between others, it is one of few bands in South America of this kind.
18.01.2011 - DejvTheDrummer
We beg you for a hit because we feel like band with good potencial in Czech Republic. The band has been working for over one year and we have made quite good demo records. I believe the year 2011 is gonna be our year and we need many opinions about our activity to get better. We just need your help like support for czech metal and make us feel that we are here for you on right place. Thx to all! Keep rockin' mates.
btw. We are also planning to release absolutely new kind style album in autumn.
17.01.2011 - Virgile
Previous band of Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) before he starts Cacophony. Two full-lenght albums are available : "One Nation Underground" (1983) and "The Natives Are Restless" (1985)
31.01.2011 - Virgile
Coming from Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), these three musicians play an agressive thrash/death metal with some black metal influences. After a demo and an EP, the released their first full-lenght record entitled "March To Calvary" in 2009.
31.01.2011 - Virgile
Founded in 1982 in Seattle, they recorded 3 demo and a full-lenght album entitled "Harsh Realities" (1990). They used to tour with D.R.I., Sacred Reich, Excel, Atrophy ... They had been sometimes compared to Megadeth due to some musical similarities.
26.11.2011 - ChapuLviz
"Harsh Realities" es a good album... and Bitter End is a very good band...
07.12.2012 - yanivush147
Please add the band on MS, so i can add 'Harsh Realities' to my collection!!!!!!
17.01.2011 - Virgile
Another project led by IT (Abruptum, Vondur, Ophthalamia) and his long-date friend Michael Bohlin. They recorded two full-lenght albums "Sinners Inc." (2004) and "Angelseed & Demonmilk" (2005), a third one called "Cosmogenesis" was planned but has never been released yet.
15.01.2011 - monsterpod2
I found the EP Chalice of the Black Flame on Amazon last night and have already listened to it a dozen times. This is a tight, solid band who sound pretty impressive. I really like some of the stuff on Abyss Records & I really feel this band is worth your while, even if you don't add them.. I think you will enjoy their material..... Thank you for your consideration...
14.01.2011 - Sonic MrSumo
Great Australian band who released two very good LPs (The Prize Recruit and Identical Remote Controlled Reactions) in the early 2000s before suddenly disbanding in 2004. Their style is metalcore with touches of Gothenburg metal, reminiscent of later Soilwork and In Flames.
12.01.2011 - MetalFantasy
Because it's a metal band and it has been Top of the Radio Rock's Most Playend Songs-list for many weeks in 2009 in Finland.
14.01.2011 - Meller
Watered down grunge-metal hybrid with bland, over-polished songs and production? No thanks. I'd rather see Blake here from the same vein of Finnish bands - the difference is huge compared to these guys. -1
13.05.2013 - Nimlot
Sounds like hard rock to me. I wouldn't call this metal. -1
11.01.2011 - RUMAKS
Kick arse old school dm from Oulu, Finland!! Debut album Plague Poetry came out in 2009 and it's a recommendable check out for all dm fans! Can't go wrong with this one. Check them out, folks!
10.01.2011 - Mikrokosmos
Old school death metal band from Japan. As no myspace page exists, I put a youtube link instead. if it doesn't work, here are the links to the songs you can find on youtube :

This is not a band, it's a meatgrinder. Huge, unclean sound, slow bashing and mid-tempo groovy destruction, laced with really pissed-off sounding screaming and out-from-nothing speed assaults. Not only that, they really can make some kick-ass songs. Although Sludge is mainly the game, there's a healthy dose of early Death Metal and Hardcore thrown in the mix from time to time. This is about as misanthropic and unclean as Sludge gets. Embrace your demise - embrace Fistula!
