It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt
very good...I also listened to a preview of their third album, really nice ...

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.
09.10.2011 - DrkkWntr
It's a band from Cyprus, a country that doesn't have such a big metal scene and the black metal scene is almost nothing. This makes the band's work more original and that they really care about metal and release material that express what they are and what they feel.
05.04.2011 - AlexKinchin
although they may not be the heaviest band out there or the most well know they rock pretty hard
just the fact that they have opened for Disturbed, Godsmack, Drowning Pool, Five Finger Death Punch and Alice in Chains is pretty good credentials
04.04.2011 - CJ_Triaxis
Triaxis are a heavy metal band from the UK (South Wales). They have played at some of the largest UK Metal festivals including Bloodstock Open Air (2009) and Hammerfest III (2011). Their EP 'Lord of the Northern Sky' was released in August 2008 and self-released their debut full-length album 'Key To The Kingdom' in August 2009 to widespread critical acclaim, including plaudits from Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Zero Tolerance, and many other magazines. They have also made numerous radio appearances, including airplay on Bruce Dickinson's BBC Rock Show.
03.04.2011 - Bard
This is some crazy ass progressive metal filled with wonderful displays of endless wankery and pretentious blithering (in a good way, of course). Led by memeber of Behold...the Arctopus, apparently their album has seven years of work put into it.
13.11.2011 - Grody2themax
This band needs to be on metalstorm. Its just not right to have a band named Semen (who also sucks btw) on the site and not this band.
02.04.2011 - lond
Very good yet criminally underrated band from Poland. They have been around since 1994 and have just released their new album which is not be missed (neither should be their previous recordings) by all fans of intelligent death metal.
31.03.2011 - OliverFogwell
Australia's biggest and best industrial metal band. Recorded debut album in LA with Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory, God Forbid, Threat SIgnla, Mnemic) and signed to Riot!/Warner Music. Supported Static X, Dope, Hanzel Und Gretyl, Fozzy and many more on countless sold out local and international tours. Features BIZZ from Genitortures (Feat. David Vincent - Morbid Angel) and The Undead (ex-Misfits) on guitar.

Abandon All Ships is an exciting new metalcore band unlike any other band in existence! Implementing electronic influences into their sound, Abandon All Ships brings something new and fresh to the over-saturated metalcore genre. With one EP and one studio album under their belt, they are most certainly on their way to greatness.

They really need to drop the autotune but I'll +1 cause other than that they're decent.
23.05.2012 - BoxCar Willy
Are you serious?
I can stand metalcore, it's one of my favourites when it's decent, btu this just fuckign suck giant horse dick. Please, do not add, it's hardly even metal.

Brooklyn, New York-based three guitar-led sludge merchants HULL (from their bio, it has to be said) delve into the same energy as bands like Mastodon, High on Fire and Neurosis. They've made a full album (Sole Lord) and a few EPs. Highly recommended if you like the aforementioned bands, and want to dig deeper into the world of sludge.
17.03.2012 - tea[m]ster
yes, yes, add them please!
29.03.2011 - Gelati
The Tea Club puts out a surprisingly lush and varied sound for a guitar/bass/drums trio. Hailing from New Jersey, Patrick McGowan (vocals, guitar, bass), brother Dan (vocals, guitar) and Kyle Minnick (drums) present an adventurous prog-metal offering with stylistic electric and acoustic guitar embellishments rare to this genre. In place of endless riffage, gorgeous chording and tasty chiming single-note picking keep General Winter's Secret Museum fresh and original. Patrick's smooth tenor is perfect for these compositions (no Cookie Monster or screeching castrati). Each piece is performed with a fiery passion that has the whole affair giving most art-rock bands a run for their money, as beauty and bombast are balanced to maximum effect.
29.03.2011 - The Exorcist 10
I'm surprised this band is not in the list..!
Rough silk were a good name back in their days
and they're planning a re-gathering for their 20th anniversary.
Hurry up, let the band in!

Very good band that after a hiatus are preparing a new cd.
"14 years of existence, of endless song-writing and rehearsing, of performing live and enjoying every single part of it, is what Rafferty Rules is all about. Created back in 1996, the band today still remains loyal to the principles which brought it to life. Its members' common love about music. The preservation of the its personal identity no matter what. Therefore, in the year of 2011, Rafferty Rules is more than proud to welcome everyday new Friends and Enemies, always striving to do their ..."

SKEPTICAL MINDS is a mix of electro-indus music with metal riffs and a melodic female voice.
Formed in 2002, the band released 2 EP, one album (RENT TO KILL) signed in Europe & USA and the song "Skeleton Key" appears on the American double compilation "A World of Sirens" released by SONIC CATHEDRAL. Actually, SKEPTICAL MINDS works on their second album (almost finished). In the past, the band shared the stage with bands like LACUNA COIL, APOCALYPTICA, EPICA, AFTER FOREVER, HYPOCRISY, JON OLIVA, DORO, MOONSPELL,…. And they don't want to stop there… So, WATCH YOUR BACK !!!
