It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!

Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

The band describes their sound as "Dragon Metal". They are notoriously bad, and considered a joke by many. Despite that they are metal and they have a discography of ten albums, which the artwork is (poorly) hand drawn.

Angband formed in 2004 in Tehran by Mahyar Dean a classically trained musician and author who is well known in metal world for writing two books about Death and Testament bands, specifically for his Death book in 2000 when Chuck Schuldiner (RIP) was still among us, "…the work and devotion you (Mahyar) have put toward this book is a true testament of your belief in the music as I am a fan of heavy metal as well." Chuck wrote to Mahyar in a letter. Angband was a Progressive Metal / Instrumental project first but when Mahyar met a talented tenor singer Ashkan Yazdani they decided to become a Power Metal / Progressive band. Angband recorded their debut album "Rising from Apadana" in July 2007 and then signed a deal with Pure Steel Records of Germany. many sources claim they are the first Metal band from Iran to sign a deal with an European record company. "Rising from Apadana" released in August 29 2008 and had lots of positive feedback. Angband chose "Visions of the Seeker" as the title of their 2nd studio album. The Album originally was set to release in Autumn of 2009 but because of a production problem it pushed back to 2010. Then the band collaborated with veteran sound engineer Achim Kohler (Primal Fear , Amon Amarth , Edguy) and the mix/mastering process finished in August 2010.

Their style is Progressive/Power Metal and they are the first Iranian band to be signed to a European Label (Pure Steel Records).
30.06.2011 - diabolicintent
Diabolic Intent is the true meaning of underground metal, never signing deals offered to them to keep their creative control and most important, to keep all their music free for the fans. they have a nice track record with 4 albums (and 3 coming out this year) 2 dvds and many features and compilations. they are an international recording artist having flown to South Africa to record their 2007 release "the cold path of man". toured with many great bands, and have been together since 1998. so in a nutshell, they have accomplished things other bands need a label for... and they have stood the test of time, offering original music that isnt a copy of someone else's sound. Judge for yourself... ALL of their albums are available for FREE download.

Band has been around a while, with three full length LP's, including their new album 'Vengeance is My Name'. Definitely a traditional thrash metal band that remains true to their sound.

Here's a pretty amazing melodeath band I discovered a while ago. Surprisingly underrated and still going pretty unnoticed, especially since they have been around since 1997. They have three full-length albums, two EP's and a demo. They use a pretty deep, low growl, which I think is pretty similar to the vocals Brendan Small uses for Nathan Explosion for Dethklok, but also incorporating clean vocals and screams which are used more often in their later work. They make good use of their keyboard as you hear that taking a lot of the lead melodies. The guitars fit nicely with some pretty good melodies and rhythms. I really like how the guitars and the keyboard share lead melodies and it's not just dominated by one or the other. The drumming is also done very well with some great fills and good use of double bass. Definitely a band worth checking out, I would suggest "Let Chaos Come", one of my personal favorites, and not just from the band, but of everything.

Morannon rose from the ashes of other symphonic, ambient projects in early 2008. Featuring lyrical themes pertaining to Middle-Earth and a strong inclination towards epic, medieval melodies; Morannon is sure to stand out amongst the overcrowded ambient metal scene. So far, one entirely instrumental demo and a new album in the making.

Execration is just about to release its second album, which has already received praise in several publications. It was recently heralded as one of the best albums this decade by none other than Darkthrone's Fenriz (http://www.myspace.com/officialdarkthrone/blog/542840550). Execration delivers death metal closer to the old school than the new school, but with twists of inspiration from more experimental acts like Voivod, Deathspell Omega and other.

Pretty good BM. They show a lot of promise, I highly recommend their debut, "Rise From The Void".
"Mormânt De Snagov was founded in 2008 by Domnul Cadavru in Southwest Finland. The aim of the project was to create stripped-down black metal. Mormânt De Snagov respects classical black metal influences immensely, but also explores new territories boldly and adds new aspects to the genre. A great part of the lyrics have risen from the frustration towards the hypocritical religious community and are openly blasphemous. Also, as the name of the band suggests, Domnul Cadavru is fascinated by the Southeast European legends; some of the lyrics are dealing with such concepts as immortality and the resurrection of evil."
