It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

The band features 3 members from Isis, another post metal band already on MS, and the vocalist of Deftones.
It is more post-like than Isis and not quite as heavy, but it definitely deserves a place on MS, as it is reminiscent of bands like AtomA.
I believe that a lot of fans of bands like Isis, AtomA, Enshine, Aoria and other bands in that vein of music will greatly appreciate this band.
29.06.2013 - SyFFiLiS
"Heavy, stargazing rock outfit Palms was forged out of an explosive collision, as Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno joined forces with critically-lauded post-metal group ISIS". This should be enough said to add this band on MS.
04.07.2013 - tea[m]ster
Album is fantastic, put it on here!
07.07.2013 - Unhealer
Liking this album more and more each listen!
28.07.2013 - psykometal
Didn't hear any metal in this at all when I listened.
03.10.2013 - 3rdWorld
-1. And i do agree with Mr.Database manager. There isn't any metal in this at all. No need to die to get it added in here, cuz this doesn't deserve a place here. Not to mention their really crappy and bland debut. Pfft. >:(
24.10.2013 - ScreamingSteelUS
I don't understand why people insist on associating post-rock with metal. There is no metal here.
29.12.2013 - Zaphod
Agreed, no reason to be on MS. Then again, they added Anneke Van Giersbergen just because she has been in metal bands...
24.05.2012 - The Benighted
Corelia are a burgeoning progressive/technical metal band with a single EP under their belts. With a sound not unlike Protest the Hero and The Human Abstract, they've come across some especially interesting ideas along the way, with a stunning selection of songs, to boot. 'Nostalgia' was released in 2011, and I've been listening ever since. Highly recommended.
09.09.2013 - LeKiwi
Not unlike Periphery's heavier moments...not bad
02.10.2013 - BaneConall
They are working on a full length now. Hopefully soon.
17.03.2014 - Dead In Hell
I have to say, the sound IS unlike Protest the Hero. The only way these bands sound alike is if you've never heard progressive metal before. Corelia is doing something entirely different, something that is much more amenable to fans of the genre and not just tweens taking a break from their Miley Cyrus playlists.
Anyway, Corelia deserves to be included on the site. Nostalgia is a phenomenal release that has garnered the band a lot of well-deserved attention and acclaim. If the upcoming album is of the same quality, it's going to take the genre by storm.
10.04.2013 - JefferyTotterdell
Great up and coming band, with a bit of reggae and Latin mixed in, which is groovy
First Ep of three albums and the progression is really good.
These types of bands have been doing really well lately.
But the music tells the real story so have a listen, a few live performances on YouTube.
27.03.2014 - Giza
Amazing Progressive/Alternative Metal band. Sounds like a mix of Meshuggah and Faith No More.
26.05.2014 - andreosokin
totally agree! should be added ASAP, I'll help with filling their page out

They should be here as Spain is a kind of important country as regards metal fans and this band is together with another 4 or 5 the most famous hard rock and rock band in the territory. Above all from Madrid northwards. They only reason why outsiders don't know them is the fact that they sing in Spanish. Otherwise, they would be popular enough for you.
Their music style is quite similar to The Ramones, Motorhead...The voice is let's say "peculiar". They are still active after 28 years and still selling out venues.
Their website appears to be in maintenance now.
02.06.2014 - Jujitsu-man
Can't believe they're not here. One of the most important hard rock bands in Spain.
09.06.2014 - Shankao
They are not only a Hard Rock band. They have several Heavy Metal songs.

Fastway are a British heavy metal band formed by guitarist, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, formerly of Motörhead, and bassist, Pete Way, formerly of UFO.
Don't think I need more reasons to explain why the band needs to be part of MS? Do You? I bet most of Motörhead and UFO fans are familiar with Fastway or know something about the band.
In addition, I am not able to find there official site, however I provided a link to there myspace page.
27.01.2010 - DayFly
AOR of the sticky, shmalzy kind
24.10.2013 - onedh
Fastway should be included in metalstorm.com ASAP. "Fast" Eddie Clarke delivers atrue amount of oldschool Heavy Metal. Also this band has been an influence for many other bands.
02.12.2009 - Bastard Child
London based and out to offend everyone. Featuring members of Damnas and Inner Rage River Frehney have terrorized the UK underground with their no holds bar offensive comedy and hardcore thrash. Have played with ArnoCorps, Ring Wrom and Evile, toured with Nebukadnezza and have a number of EP's released.
05.06.2013 - psykometal
Needs at least one full length.
24.03.2014 - Northern Danger
Psyko why? In metalstorm we have so many bands who have only EPs and splits. I think that's no condition....
12.06.2011 - SceneryOfLoss
Stamina is a french metal band founded by the keyboardist Gildas Vijay ROUSSEAU. In 2006 they released their debut album "Mess'Age" and currently work on the second album "Via Crucis".
30.12.2009 - drpaxton
This band is worth listening to to all who like heavy music. They play a very unique kind of music, you can call it alternative rock, or hard rock, with one the most talented lead singers out there.
15.03.2011 - WingedOctopi
Amazing band, fans of Tool should like this.
05.01.2012 - hadriel
This band needs to be added. Similar bands like dredg and Fair to Midland have been added to the site, rightfully so should these guys. Not to mention that their music is stellar! ;)
12.04.2012 - Nicoline
With 2,4 million listens registered on last.fm, this band cannot be ignored. I hope to read reviews and updates on Rishloo from MS in the future.

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Slash's Snakepit was a rock band which was a side-project formed by then-Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash (Saul Hudson) in 1994. On their first album, Matt Sorum (drums), Gilby Clarke (rhythm guitar) and Dizzy Reed (keyboard) from Guns N' Roses played in this band. On bass was Mike Inez of Alice in Chains and Eric Dover (who had previously played guitar for Jellyfish) sang lead vocals.
GN'R colleague Teddy Andreadis also appeared on the record playing harmonica & keyboards.
03.03.2010 - DayFly
Honestly, this stuff has too much boogie to call it metal. Maybe if Aerosmith were here...
05.04.2013 - DarkSymphony500
Atmospheric/Doom Metal band with gothic influences. They get the influences from bands such as Draconian, Agalloch, Shape of Despair, Saturnus and Tristania. They have released 2 EPs and a full-length album 'Errances' (2012).
22.03.2014 - RavenV.
Exceptionally atmopsheric doom band. Hope they will be soon part of the database.
08.06.2011 - in GRAVE
they are a good progressive metal band and they are influenced in dream theater and symphony x
16.05.2012 - Oracles
There one of those hidden European Prog Metal bands that are from a country who produces little to zero good metal bands and they signed with an unknown record company that is making them go unnoticed. But if everything goes good, this band has immense future. Their major influence is Dream Theater.
Tree of Life ,
The Land of Lights.
All of which you can find on youtube.
05.12.2010 - Grave Digger 87
Lutomysl doesn't have a website or a myspace, so that myspace link is a fan page. They have a pritty intense heavy style, kind of depressive sometimes too. There is only 6 bands from Ukraine on MS! Thats gotta change, hehehe.
Edit: Lutomysl does have a myspace now, http://www.myspace.com/lutomyslofficial
27.12.2012 - LaineJ
Great band, one of my favourite bm band
24.02.2009 - warlock84
We are a young band trying to get our name out there and believe this site is a great tool to help with that. We are a true metal band, not that nu-metal or radio friendly junk. We all grew up listening to bands like Pantera, Slayer, Iced Earth, Testament, Kataklysm, Amon Amarth, etc and strive to bring back the old school heavy metal. We hope to record a demo this year and any press, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.

Abandon All Ships is an exciting new metalcore band unlike any other band in existence! Implementing electronic influences into their sound, Abandon All Ships brings something new and fresh to the over-saturated metalcore genre. With one EP and one studio album under their belt, they are most certainly on their way to greatness.

I can stand metalcore, it's one of my favourites when it's decent, btu this just fuckign suck giant horse dick. Please, do not add, it's hardly even metal.

Brooklyn, New York-based three guitar-led sludge merchants HULL (from their bio, it has to be said) delve into the same energy as bands like Mastodon, High on Fire and Neurosis. They've made a full album (Sole Lord) and a few EPs. Highly recommended if you like the aforementioned bands, and want to dig deeper into the world of sludge.
17.03.2012 - tea[m]ster
yes, yes, add them please!
29.03.2011 - Gelati
The Tea Club puts out a surprisingly lush and varied sound for a guitar/bass/drums trio. Hailing from New Jersey, Patrick McGowan (vocals, guitar, bass), brother Dan (vocals, guitar) and Kyle Minnick (drums) present an adventurous prog-metal offering with stylistic electric and acoustic guitar embellishments rare to this genre. In place of endless riffage, gorgeous chording and tasty chiming single-note picking keep General Winter's Secret Museum fresh and original. Patrick's smooth tenor is perfect for these compositions (no Cookie Monster or screeching castrati). Each piece is performed with a fiery passion that has the whole affair giving most art-rock bands a run for their money, as beauty and bombast are balanced to maximum effect.
29.03.2011 - The Exorcist 10
I'm surprised this band is not in the list..!
Rough silk were a good name back in their days

Very good band that after a hiatus are preparing a new cd.
"14 years of existence, of endless song-writing and rehearsing, of performing live and enjoying every single part of it, is what Rafferty Rules is all about. SKEPTICAL MINDS is a mix of electro-indus music with metal riffs and a melodic female voice.
Formed in 2002, the band released 2 EP, one album (RENT TO KILL) signed in Europe & USA and the song "Skeleton Key" appears on the American double compilation "A World of Sirens" released by SONIC CATHEDRAL. Scarred, American Power Metal band was formed by guitarist John Toscano.
John's vision of Scarred was to create a new power metal sound combining
influences of metal masters such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and the
newer power edge of bands like Nevermore and Iced Earth.
In 2009 Scarred added Singer Eric Claro and Bassist Ray Solorio to the line
up. The two new additions along with long time Drummer Andy Salas and
Guitarist John Toscano reignited the Scarred fever. While the signature
Scarred style of John's complex riffs and Andy's wicked rolls and monstrous
double bass are still present; Eric's melodic vocals and screams from hell
along with Ray's vicious attack and lightning fast fingers on the bass add a
new beastly dimension to the Scarred sound.
2009 also brought the release of their EP Haunting Memories and rave
Walter Scheurer from All Access Magazine said: 'Thank you, for with
"Haunting Memories" Scarred has tendered an extremely profound piece
of shiny, valuable Metal!'
Dark Emperor from Masquerade Webzine said: Musically, these 4 songs
clocking around 24 minutes are very well written and fresh enough to
not call this band another clone-band.
The band toured the Mid West and West Coast in 2010. Their tour stops
include, Vinnie Paul & Dimebag Darrell's Rock Dogs, Fort Worth, TX;
Pontoon Beach, Il Metal Festival; The Key Club, Hollywood, CA; The Galaxy
Theater, Santa Ana; Dave Navarro's Black Door, Las Vegas NV; Boomers,
Las Vegas, NV and more.
Since the inception of Scarred, the band has enjoyed sharing the stage with
all time metal greats such as W.A.S.P, Nevermore, Armored Saint, Steel
Attack, Primal Fear, Into Eternity, Overkill, Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall,
Helloween, Metal Church, Y&T, Exodus, Dokken, and Death Angel.
2011 is set to be the year of Scarred. The band is gearing up to hit the
studio again while continuing to tour. Keep track of the band on
myspace.com/scarredmetal, scarredmetal.com and scarredmetalmusic.com
for updates on tour dates and the release of their full length CD.

I have to admit I am completely shocked that this band does not already have a profile on here. I had the pleasure of seeing this band live and they completely blew me away! They have a great sound with a truly dark groove to it. A phenomenal band in my opinion. I hope you give serious consideration to adding them to your site.

the definition of wellspring is 'a source of creativity'...wellspring creates unique yet accessible metal, drawing on a wide range of influences. echoes of Opeth, Enslaved, Emperor, and others can be heard within the music of Wellspring. However, Wellspring doesn't seek to copy their influences, they have forged something new and stand alone. Black Death, Dark, and Melodic Metal, even some Acoustic/Folk influences all are knit together into the tapestry that is the music of Wellspring. Enjoy!

Just labelling them Progressive is a bit unfair, as it's quite a melodic death metal affair as well at times. The riffs are technical, heavy, but at the same time not just self-indulgent wanking. Check out the whole thing here for free: http://soulcyclemetal.bandcamp.com/

This band has done music for over 10 years and has released two full-length albums + their third album will be released March 30th. They might not be very popular but they have become more popular over the years.
