It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1
27.03.2014 - Mehdi Taba
Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.
25.07.2013 - LeKiwi
I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt
very good...I also listened to a preview of their third album, really nice ...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

Execration is just about to release its second album, which has already received praise in several publications. It was recently heralded as one of the best albums this decade by none other than Darkthrone's Fenriz (http://www.myspace.com/officialdarkthrone/blog/542840550). Execration delivers death metal closer to the old school than the new school, but with twists of inspiration from more experimental acts like Voivod, Deathspell Omega and other.
09.10.2011 - DrkkWntr
It's a band from Cyprus, a country that doesn't have such a big metal scene and the black metal scene is almost nothing. This makes the band's work more original and that they really care about metal and release material that express what they are and what they feel.
03.03.2011 - Lampion
This portuguese band is very good to be forgotten. This band is a project of José Costa (Sacred Sin). If You like Death or Cynic will be fan of this band. They released only one album (Vast) in 1995...
30.10.2011 - Die Hacker [PT]
Yes, 1995's ''Vast'' is a work of art! And they surely diserve to be here, aswell Sacred Sin too!

STILVERLIGHT is a metal band from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. It was formed in 2009. By now the band has released EP "Bring The Flame"(2010) and internet single "One Night Before The Winter"(2010). For now there are three actual members of the band: Max Palanin (vocals, guitars), Igor Radomsky (guitars, backing vocals) and Ilya Osipenko (bass guitar, backing vocals). The music of STILVERLIGHT can be described as a "melodic power metal with rock influences". But someone could find some thrash, folk, heavy and speed metal elements. STILVERLIGHT is recording their first full-length album now which is going to be a completely new word from Russia on the world's music stage.
Debut album released in 2014!

Female Fronted Symphonic Progressive Metal band from France.
Emera group Melodic Metal , formed in 2012 .
Emera or " terrestrial light " was like a highlight for the group , able to generate great energy on stage.
Formed by five passionate self-taught , the group quickly rises times a directory, inspired by the biggest names in symphonic metal ( Nightwish, Dream Theater , Within Temptation , Lacuna Coil ... ) allowing it to prove in public.
After several encouraging concerts, group members felt the need to compose their own music to share their world.

Back in 2002 Adrian Tănase introduced Adrian Rus - guitars - to Mihai (Mişu) Dumitraşcu - drums.
Unfortunately, Adrian Tănase couldn't continue anymore and this lead to Aurelian Bãrbieru joining the band as its new lead singer.
The bass player role was highly disputed as the guys kept on coming and going.
Besides their usual gigs, the band decided to spice up things a little bit: they put together a Black Sabbath cover night together with thier old friend Adrian Tănase on vocals. Shortly, Ovidiu Cristea joined as the new bass player.
Using this stable line-up, the band spent a great couple of years rockin' around the country.
Unfortunately, the fall of 2006 brought 9.7 RICHTER's train to a sudden halt. Some personal matters forced Aurelian Bărbieru into leaving the band.
9.7 RICHTER's biggest challenge started - finding a reasonable voice for the band.
It took almost two years to find this him, but there he is: Cosmin Aioniţă fulfills the vocal role since 2008 .
The band started the recordings of the EPICENTER E.P. and released it in 2010.
Soon after the "Epicenter" mastering was ready, the band finds it self in trouble times again. Mihai Dumitrascu (drums) and Ovidiu Cristea (bass) left the band but this couldn't stop the 9.7 RICHTER freight train.
Fresh meat in: Adrian Mihai, former Magica and Interitus Dei, joins 9.7 RICHTER on drums.
We are currently working on the new full length album, stay tuned.

Some crazy grind/crossover outfit that's been going strong since the 80s, despite releasing only one album (which is a very good album at that). They border on the metal fence a bit, but I definitely feel they're worthy enough to be included.

Recently reformed self-dubbed progressive dark metal band that after its initial founding in 2007 and a demo release in 2009 (Deadborn Dreams), underwent a period of transition and instability before relaunching in 2012. In the following two years, the band wrote and recorded their debut LP, Presentiment, released on October 28th 2014. The release was labelled 'Record o' The Month' by Angry Metal Guy and demonstrates both their melodic and extreme capabilities within a solidly-written progressive template. Presentiment is streaming on Bandcamp here: https://dreamgrave.bandcamp.com/album/presentiment

Amazing musician producing music of the future. An artist and composer with such skills should definitely be on metalstorm, as people deserve to know about him and he deserves to be known to the people.

Combining the sounds of progressive, symphonic, and melodic hard rock and metal into a unique and personal musical story, Evaded strives to recreate the magical sound of the underground progressive metal scene of the 90s, a time when epic songs drenched in synth pads and echos were a rebellious act of defiance against a mainstream culture obsessed with celebrating the mediocrity of grunge and alternative rock "pop stars".

Prion Son are a progressive metal band from Southampton who have been regularly gigging clubs, bars and small festivals around the South of England. The band draws on a strong legacy of rhythm based progressive music, drawing influence from luminaries such as Tool, Coheed and Cambria, Opeth and Earthtone9 and merges this with a distinct 90s edge reminiscent of Soundgarden.
Lyrically singer Ed Moffat unifies the content of each Prion Son song into an ongoing fictional narrative telling the story of Rosa, the only living child ever to have been born in the land of the dead. Ed's formidable command of multiple vocal styles combined with bass player Luke's harmony vocals allow dialogue between the characters in this ongoing saga come to life through the music. Veterans Dave and Tim, manning guitar and drums respectively, paint the sonic scenery on which the tale rests through an impressive arsenal of eerily groove laden time signature changes, rhythms and riffs.
Prion Son are currently gigging and working on recording of their first album "Nightfall" a followup to 2010's "Snowfall" EP. Released debut album in 2014.

Their influence by thrash metal and the love of melodies drove them to define a sound of their own, away from being labeled as a static genre. Phenomy, a 5 piece band from lebanon, gathered from all around the country to make this happen.
