05:31 - no one kiwi, your names a bit false advertising isn't it?
04:53 - LeKiwi I believe Digipak needs to capitalised as it is a registered trademark, where as digipack simply refers to that style of packaging. Not entirely sure...digipack might just be a spelling mistake, however logical :P
04:40 - no one OMG! METAL ARCHIVES MADE A SPELLING MISTAKE!! : O
04:29 - Amatsu Mikaboshi why do I keep looking at scarlet witch Gifs every time I keep tuning into different tabs??...
02:35 - Bad English look at MA update there are bed english as well Minor detail: "digipak" is the preferred spelling, NOT "digipack". Please try to stick to it. That is all.
02:21 - Redn1ght Fuck me, man... I've been recognizing voice actors all the time now... "Oh wait! It's that guy... Nekota! What? Aoki too!?" I'm too good at this. :) (These are all side characters too...)
It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

The Canadian rock band was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early 1980s as an import before interest gradually declined. Today, the power trio continue to receive radio airplay on Classic Rock stations and are perhaps best remembered for their positive message songs and their vibrant energetic concerts, complete with extravagant pyrotechnical light shows. Their popularity was extremely strong in Texas, where they first received strong radio attention; but, they were stellar standouts at California's US Festival, and garnered a considerable fan base and radio attention by regularly touring the world, especially throughout North America and Europe. Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga.

If Journey and Rush are on this site, so should Triumph. Rik Emmett is a guitar god!

this band definitely deserves place on this site!
15.09.2014 - Kitharistas87
I agree that this band deserves place on this site. It's one of the finest hard rock/progressive rock bands of Canada.
15.06.2014 - God Alone
Okay, they're not metal; but they surely were/are a huge influence for some industrial/post-metal bands like Godflesh or Neurosis.
I've seen a lot of (great) bands here that have nothing to do with metal at all (Current 93 for example), so... I thought that the almighty Swans could have a chance to be featured on MS. :)
19.06.2014 - Syk
C93 were reviewed by a staffer a long, long time ago. I'm quite confident they'd never be seen here but for that fact. Don't get swanhopes up ;)
22.06.2014 - Ilham
They really have nothing to do here despite being a great band that still produces great records.
19.02.2015 - Hank80AF
They have a very unique style in his music, very personal and quite complex.
17.06.2015 - Bardusk
Swans is a must here. And yes, they are more metal than most of metal bands.
12.08.2015 - AlbusNox
They are not metal at all!!! Are u serious people?! Let's bring The Beatles on MS... Because they were a huge influence for some heavy metal bands... C'mon it's METAL STORM not MUSIC STORM!!!!
01.07.2015 - ManiacBlasphemer
Not quite a metal band, but seeing that other hard rock or glam bands are featured, I do not see why these guys shouldn't be here. Great White is one of the better bands from that thoroughly commercial movement of the 80s.

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Adrián Barilari with the keyboardist Hugo Bistolfi, who also left Rata Blanca in 1994, form Alianza, with many musicians sessions, which were the only members permanently was Barilari and Bistolfi. The duo explore ballads sound with more keyboard presence than Rata Blanca. Alianza did not have much impact in Argentina, but in other Latin American countries. They edited three albums Sueños del Mundo (1994), Alianza (1997), and Huellas (1999).

AraPacis (Ara-Patches) is a female fronted metal band hailing from Montreal, Canada. Formed in 2003 by guitarist Jerry Fielden, their main goal was to re-create some of the orignal aspects of 1970's Hard Rock and Progressive Rock and fuse it together with early 21st Century Progressive, Doom & Gothic Metal to make an interesting metal hybrid. Their debut album ''So Many Leapers'' was released in April of 2006. and their second album ''Consequences Of Dreams'' was released on October 5, 2009. The band is now working on their 3rd album.

AraPacis is more Classic/Prog Metal than Metalcore, AraPacis has shared the stage with The Agonist, Raven and Anvil, amongst other bands.

Darking borns in Piombino in 2005 from the meeting between the guitarist Agostino Carpo and the drummer Leonardo Freschi: Agostino coming from an experience of ten years (founding member in 1984, to 1994) with "Domine", the famous Epic Metal band from Florence (but borns in Piombino); Leonardo coming from some experiences in various local bands. The common passion for Metal and Epic-Metal in general and for groups like Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, Riot, Helstar, Coroner and Testament, and for the hard rock seventies-eighty (Uriah Heep, Badlands, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple ...), unites them in a Epic-Power musical project beginning to grow up with the entry in the group of the singer Mirko Miliani, also coming from other musical experiences in the area. After several changes of line-up, finally in 2008 joined the group the young Matteo Lupi, bass player with experiences in a speed-trash local band, so "Darking" goes to define the classic Rock four elements formation: vocal , guitar, bass and drums. Over the years "Darking" increases the activity live and the composition of the songs for the first demo, which contains five tracks. The music of "Darking" comes mainly from a game of crosses between the guitar of Agostino and the drums of Leonardo, on which are grafted the heavy rhythmic work of Matteo and the voice clean and powerful of Mirko: heavy riff and melodic chorus crosses naturally with breaks and changes of time, creating the distinctive powerful sound of the band that avoids extremes stylistic technicalities to look for the roots of the "classic" Metal eighties. The texts, written by Agostino, are taken from personal observations and from everyday life, trying to transform the poetic of everyday into epic poetry and transforming what we hear in measure of the world.

CHAINSHEART are a classic hard rock / heavy metal band from Cyprus comprised of seasoned musicians, all of whom are extremely passionate rockers and this is clearly evident throughout their music and performances. The band began in 2011 as the solo project of vocalist Yiannis Savva who soon after decided to form a band, thus CHAINSHEART were born.
In late 2012 the band released their first album ("Just Another Day") as a self-release. A purely hard rock album .The band however underwent several line-up changes and has finally found its true sound and style - classic heavy metal.
CHAINSHEART are now back with their second album, titled "Leaving Planet Hell", an album filled with anthemic heavy metal tunes, melodic lines, energy and passion and of course that somewhat "old-school" sound reminiscent of the good old days! Make no mistakes here; fists will be up high while headbanging will be non-stop upon listening to this album!
19.07.2015 - ObsidianTide
Obsidian Tide should be on Metal Storm because they play metal, they kick ass, and they've already released a debut EP in January 2015!
The band is working very hard on writing new music for a first full length album (planned to be released in 2016) as well and getting in touch with the international metal community - which Metal Storm is a big part of!
A longer bio is here, if it's relevant:
Obsidian Tide was formed in Kiryat Ono, Israel in 2012.
After a short time of trying to work with a fourth or even fifth musician in the band, the dust settled, and the three founding members of Obsidian Tide make up for what it is today: Oz Avneya on guitars and clean vocals, Erez Nadler on drums, and Shachar Bieber on bass and harsh vocals.
In January 2015, after over two years of hard work, Obsidian Tide released their debut EP: Debris. Debris is a 27 minutes long record, containing 5 progressive metal song. The EP was recorded, produced and engineered independently by the hands of the band's drummer, Erez (Save for the mastering, done by the international master audio engineer, Jamie King).
The band's influences include many great artists, from a large spectrum. On the heavier side, the band takes inspiration from bands such as The Faceless, Fallujah and Decapitated. On the more progressive end, Obsidian Tide are influenced by the likes of Opeth, Tool, Katatonia and Mastodon. Even more acts are blended into the band's softer sound, such as Alcest and Agalloch.
Obsidian Tide's sound is a mixture of all of their influences: their music, whether newer composition for the upcoming full length album or in the Debris EP, includes a ranged variety of sounds. From heavy riffs through atmospheric, hypnotizing chords all the way to heart rending acoustic interludes - Obsidian Tide delivers.

Most important thing is the multi-talented vocalist extraordinaire Christian Alvestam is in this band and performs vocals, guitar, bass and programming. It is a new black/death metal project of Christian that started in 2014 in Skövde, Sweden. As stated by themselves, it is our take on the Nordic death- and black metal style of the mid-90s. A sound many times driven by melodic riffing, fierce vocals and folk music-ridden soundscapes. I guess you could say this is us - respectfully - paying tribute to that specific musical period of time and its progenitors.
22.07.2015 - metaleaterr
The band has been rocking the local metal scene for quite some time now. They released their debut album titled 'Hotbox' in July 2007. Check out the track 'Life's a bitch' from the album. Check it here:--

Kriogenum is a non-profit project. Everything they have achieved during last six years - the fruits of their own labor. The band was formed in 2008. The guys had been experimented with styles and sounds, until they has come to a certain symbiosis of progressive, industrial and modern trends of "metal". Over the years of existence of the band there were a lot of different performances, including concerts and festivals in the cities of Crimea: Yalta, Saki, Simferopol, Sevastopol, festivals in the cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, participation in the international festival METAL HEAD MISSIONS. Perhaps the most striking achievement of the band was the participation in the International festival of alternative music METAL CROWD-2013 in the town of Rechitsa (Belarus). Kriogenum not only "lit" the audience, but also received high praise from headliners of the festival, such "monsters" of the world metal scene as Sybreed (Switzerland). Kriogenum among many other underground bands demonstrate the European-level of skills and mastery. The compositions of the band contains liveliness, complexity and mad energy.

Axolotl is the Mexican Walking Fish, but ironically it isn't a fish at all but it is in fact an amphibian. So these guys have been pumping out some really good Melodic Death Metal since 2007 and they have produced numerous albums in that time.

These newcomers are set to tour with major Progressive outfit Riverside this September.
They provide a new take on the progressive, more oldschool, sound of metal.
Definitely a worthwhile band!

The Redhead Project was created in 2013 to showcase the songwriting skills of Matt Redhead, and as a means of rediscovering his roots and passion for heavy metal. Enlisting the assistance of friends and strangers to help, the debut album "The Ringmistress" was released late 2013, receiving 7/10 from The Metal Observer website.

From Algarve based Portuguese Thrash/Death Metallers Murk are certainly very theater and visually being all covered up in murky gray paint. Recent "Tyrants of Decay" EP with a few splices of death metal and some acoustic nuances is somewhat interesting. The striking resemblance of vocalist Nuno Faria's voice to Testament's Chuck Billy vocal register of the "Demonic" era. A decent band which first video clip is ready coming up on October.
