It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

The band features 3 members from Isis, another post metal band already on MS, and the vocalist of Deftones.
It is more post-like than Isis and not quite as heavy, but it definitely deserves a place on MS, as it is reminiscent of bands like AtomA.
I believe that a lot of fans of bands like Isis, AtomA, Enshine, Aoria and other bands in that vein of music will greatly appreciate this band.
29.06.2013 - SyFFiLiS
"Heavy, stargazing rock outfit Palms was forged out of an explosive collision, as Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno joined forces with critically-lauded post-metal group ISIS". This should be enough said to add this band on MS.
04.07.2013 - tea[m]ster
Album is fantastic, put it on here!
07.07.2013 - Unhealer
Liking this album more and more each listen!
28.07.2013 - psykometal
Didn't hear any metal in this at all when I listened.
03.10.2013 - 3rdWorld
-1. And i do agree with Mr.Database manager. There isn't any metal in this at all. No need to die to get it added in here, cuz this doesn't deserve a place here. Not to mention their really crappy and bland debut. Pfft. >:(
24.10.2013 - ScreamingSteelUS
I don't understand why people insist on associating post-rock with metal. There is no metal here.
29.12.2013 - Zaphod
Agreed, no reason to be on MS. Then again, they added Anneke Van Giersbergen just because she has been in metal bands...
24.05.2012 - The Benighted
Corelia are a burgeoning progressive/technical metal band with a single EP under their belts. With a sound not unlike Protest the Hero and The Human Abstract, they've come across some especially interesting ideas along the way, with a stunning selection of songs, to boot. 'Nostalgia' was released in 2011, and I've been listening ever since. Highly recommended.
09.09.2013 - LeKiwi
Not unlike Periphery's heavier moments...not bad
02.10.2013 - BaneConall
They are working on a full length now. Hopefully soon.
17.03.2014 - Dead In Hell
I have to say, the sound IS unlike Protest the Hero. The only way these bands sound alike is if you've never heard progressive metal before. Corelia is doing something entirely different, something that is much more amenable to fans of the genre and not just tweens taking a break from their Miley Cyrus playlists.
Anyway, Corelia deserves to be included on the site. Nostalgia is a phenomenal release that has garnered the band a lot of well-deserved attention and acclaim. If the upcoming album is of the same quality, it's going to take the genre by storm.
02.12.2009 - Bastard Child
London based and out to offend everyone. Featuring members of Damnas and Inner Rage River Frehney have terrorized the UK underground with their no holds bar offensive comedy and hardcore thrash. Have played with ArnoCorps, Ring Wrom and Evile, toured with Nebukadnezza and have a number of EP's released.
05.06.2013 - psykometal
Needs at least one full length.
24.03.2014 - Northern Danger
Psyko why? In metalstorm we have so many bands who have only EPs and splits. I think that's no condition....
27.01.2010 - ArcticWolf
Fastway are a British heavy metal band formed by guitarist, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, formerly of Motörhead, and bassist, Pete Way, formerly of UFO.
Don't think I need more reasons to explain why the band needs to be part of MS? Do You? I bet most of Motörhead and UFO fans are familiar with Fastway or know something about the band.
In addition, I am not able to find there official site, however I provided a link to there myspace page.
27.01.2010 - DayFly
AOR of the sticky, shmalzy kind
24.10.2013 - onedh
Fastway should be included in metalstorm.com ASAP. "Fast" Eddie Clarke delivers atrue amount of oldschool Heavy Metal. Also this band has been an influence for many other bands.

Info in English here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Suaves
They should be here as Spain is a kind of important country as regards metal fans and this band is together with another 4 or 5 the most famous hard rock and rock band in the territory. Above all from Madrid northwards. They only reason why outsiders don't know them is the fact that they sing in Spanish. Otherwise, they would be popular enough for you.
Their music style is quite similar to The Ramones, Motorhead...The voice is let's say "peculiar". They are still active after 28 years and still selling out venues.
Their website appears to be in maintenance now.

Stamina is a french metal band founded by the keyboardist Gildas Vijay ROUSSEAU. In 2006 they released their debut album "Mess'Age" and currently work on the second album "Via Crucis".
10.04.2013 - JefferyTotterdell
Great up and coming band, with a bit of reggae and Latin mixed in, which is groovy
First Ep of three albums and the progression is really good.
These types of bands have been doing really well lately.
But the music tells the real story so have a listen, a few live performances on YouTube.
27.03.2014 - Giza
Amazing Progressive/Alternative Metal band. Sounds like a mix of Meshuggah and Faith No More.
13.07.2012 - Steve Rowland
This is a pretty good band from Québec. They're pretty well known and good in the genre. I'm actually surprised this band isn't on this site already. A listen to this song should help convincing you :
21.02.2014 - The Evergreen
+1, and I too am surprised to find them in the list of sugestions.

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Slash's Snakepit was a rock band which was a side-project formed by then-Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash (Saul Hudson) in 1994. On their first album, Matt Sorum (drums), Gilby Clarke (rhythm guitar) and Dizzy Reed (keyboard) from Guns N' Roses played in this band. On bass was Mike Inez of Alice in Chains and Eric Dover (who had previously played guitar for Jellyfish) sang lead vocals.
GN'R colleague Teddy Andreadis also appeared on the record playing harmonica & keyboards.
03.03.2010 - DayFly
Honestly, this stuff has too much boogie to call it metal. Maybe if Aerosmith were here...
30.12.2009 - drpaxton
This band is worth listening to to all who like heavy music. They play a very unique kind of music, you can call it alternative rock, or hard rock, with one the most talented lead singers out there.
15.03.2011 - WingedOctopi
Amazing band, fans of Tool should like this.
05.01.2012 - hadriel
This band needs to be added. Similar bands like dredg and Fair to Midland have been added to the site, rightfully so should these guys. Not to mention that their music is stellar! ;)
12.04.2012 - Nicoline
With 2,4 million listens registered on last.fm, this band cannot be ignored. I hope to read reviews and updates on Rishloo from MS in the future.
05.12.2010 - Grave Digger 87
Lutomysl doesn't have a website or a myspace, so that myspace link is a fan page. They have a pritty intense heavy style, kind of depressive sometimes too. There is only 6 bands from Ukraine on MS! Thats gotta change, hehehe.
Edit: Lutomysl does have a myspace now, http://www.myspace.com/lutomyslofficial
27.12.2012 - LaineJ
Great band, one of my favourite bm band
05.04.2013 - DarkSymphony500
Atmospheric/Doom Metal band with gothic influences. They get the influences from bands such as Draconian, Agalloch, Shape of Despair, Saturnus and Tristania. They have released 2 EPs and a full-length album 'Errances' (2012).
22.03.2014 - RavenV.
Exceptionally atmopsheric doom band. Hope they will be soon part of the database.
24.02.2009 - warlock84
We are a young band trying to get our name out there and believe this site is a great tool to help with that. We are a true metal band, not that nu-metal or radio friendly junk. We all grew up listening to bands like Pantera, Slayer, Iced Earth, Testament, Kataklysm, Amon Amarth, etc and strive to bring back the old school heavy metal. We hope to record a demo this year and any press, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.
08.06.2011 - in GRAVE
they are a good progressive metal band and they are influenced in dream theater and symphony x
16.05.2012 - Oracles
There one of those hidden European Prog Metal bands that are from a country who produces little to zero good metal bands and they signed with an unknown record company that is making them go unnoticed. But if everything goes good, this band has immense future. Their major influence is Dream Theater.
Tree of Life ,
The Land of Lights.
All of which you can find on youtube.
24.03.2014 - Winterdemon

From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Trash_(metal_band)):
White Trash was a funk/hard rock/soul band from Queens, New York. They separated themselves from other bands in their genre with their horn section, called the Badass Brass, which gave them a very funky musical sound. They enjoyed some success in the early 90s before disbanding.
While they started off poppy (e.g., Apple Pie), they got harder and meaner as they went along. Undeniably talented contributors to the funk metal genre.

From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ra_(American_band)):
Ra is an American alternative metal band from Los Angeles, California, taking their name from the Egyptian sun god. The band has been around since the 1990s, but did not actually evolve into its current form until 2002. Their music was described as "exotic yet familiar, heavy yet funky, direct yet sophisticated, sensual yet soulful, unrelenting yet cathartic."
The band is known for their hit songs "Do You Call My Name", "Fallen Angels", "Don't Turn Away", and "Broken Hearted Soul". To date, Ra has sold approximately 400,000 albums in North America.
20.03.2014 - Fox
The band exists for almost a decade, they have recently released their first full album and I think they are finally evolving from a "small local project" into something worth to be mentioned outside their city and even (hopefully :-)) outside Canada. I find their sound to be very unique and immediately fell in love with their aggresive drumming and the combination of extremely mild and harsh vocals (both things being their main trademarks, imho). And one more thing, I'm from Europe and I know them for quite a while, so I was surprised/disappointed there's no mention of them here on MetalStorm :-).
19.03.2014 - Mrtvozornik
Cryonic do nothing their countrymen Hammerfall and Nocturnal Rites weren't doing when they helped get melodic power metal back on its feet 10 years ago, but they do it with enough confidence and charm that it doesn't matter. In a time when the many of the late 90's generation of Swedish power metal bands are growing stale, and younger bands like Dragonland are intent on sounding 'experimental', others like Cryonic, their almost-namesakes Cryonic Temple, and Dreamland, those that still play heads-down, no nonsense guitar based power metal are always going to be welcome.
19.03.2014 - Mrtvozornik
Raising Fear manages to mix up its songs into two general buckets: fast power/speed along the lines of older Helloween, and some slower but more impressive tracks with a bit more substance to them that fall more into the prog/power category.
19.03.2014 - everdying
because more people need to know about everdying, and because it needs to be shown that just because a man plays an 8 string guitar it doesn't mean that he djents or is in a shitty core band. straight up blackened melodic death metal led by one man, blast beats and harmonies, the way it should be.
19.03.2014 - Mrtvozornik
It seems that the sudden burst of Swedish death metal bands has also evoked a cool Swedish heavy metal scene consisting of bands such as Portrait, In Solitude, Ghost, and the most recent member Trial. This new wave of heavy metal bands that hail from Sweden bring a different spice to the typical sound of heavy metal, thus creating a different brand. While still having the same dynamic feel of the catchy bands, Trial and the aforementioned bands add more melody and feel to their music, rendering the atmosphere moody and rather saddened, sometimes even leaning towards doomier tendencies. Trial release their first album The Primordial Temple in 2012. The album is pure old school heavy metal with all the features that heavy metal had in the '80s and even more. Moods vary, riffs get your headbanging face on, vocals soar on top of everything, and leads rip with harmony all the way trough. Now that a new wave of Swedish bands have started their assault, the ears of metalheads will be tingling even more, particularly fans of traditional heavy metal. ''The Primordial Temple'' may have its peculiarities compared to the most typical kind, but that certainly doesn't mean that the music is worse.

Dominage is a great band with a unique style. If you like the fast and powerful metal, you'll love this band. The riffs, the solos, the structure and the lyrical themes are simply great. If you're looking for a great heavy/progressive metal, you might to pick this one up.

Steel Tormentor hail from the well-known hotbed of heavy metal that is County Mayo, Ireland. The band was founded almost ten years ago by guitarist/vocalist/songwriter James Kelly, but it took until 2004 for them to release their debut CD Unleashed. Six year after, 2010, they released their second album Return of a king. Straddling that fine line between NWOBMH and 80s power metal with considerable style, Kelly has written a fine bunch of songs that overcome their lack of originality. The Iron Maiden influence shines through very clearly.
