It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

The Canadian rock band was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early 1980s as an import before interest gradually declined. Today, the power trio continue to receive radio airplay on Classic Rock stations and are perhaps best remembered for their positive message songs and their vibrant energetic concerts, complete with extravagant pyrotechnical light shows. Their popularity was extremely strong in Texas, where they first received strong radio attention; but, they were stellar standouts at California's US Festival, and garnered a considerable fan base and radio attention by regularly touring the world, especially throughout North America and Europe. Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga.

If Journey and Rush are on this site, so should Triumph. Rik Emmett is a guitar god!

this band definitely deserves place on this site!

I agree that this band deserves place on this site. It's one of the finest hard rock/progressive rock bands of Canada.

Not quite a metal band, but seeing that other hard rock or glam bands are featured, I do not see why these guys shouldn't be here. Great White is one of the better bands from that thoroughly commercial movement of the 80s.

Alexey Arzamazov is the mastermind and only remaining original member of Shadow Host. He formed the band in Moscow, 1993.
Andrey Smirnov was forced to leave in 2007 due to the time he needed to spend with his main band Everlost.
After Victor Anger's departure in 2009, original vocalist Sergey Kayumov returned. According to Shadow Host's official site, bassist Vasiliy Rumyantsev is no longer in the band, and Sergey Kayumov is again playing the bass.

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Okay, they're not metal; but they surely were/are a huge influence for some industrial/post-metal bands like Godflesh or Neurosis.
I've seen a lot of (great) bands here that have nothing to do with metal at all (Current 93 for example), so... I thought that the almighty Swans could have a chance to be featured on MS. :)
19.06.2014 - Syk
C93 were reviewed by a staffer a long, long time ago. I'm quite confident they'd never be seen here but for that fact. Don't get swanhopes up ;)
22.06.2014 - Ilham
They really have nothing to do here despite being a great band that still produces great records.
19.02.2015 - Hank80AF
They have a very unique style in his music, very personal and quite complex.
17.06.2015 - Bardusk
Swans is a must here. And yes, they are more metal than most of metal bands.

The duo explore ballads sound with more keyboard presence than Rata Blanca. Alianza did not have much impact in Argentina, but in other Latin American countries. They edited three albums Sueños del Mundo (1994), Alianza (1997), and Huellas (1999).

AraPacis (Ara-Patches) is a female fronted metal band hailing from Montreal, Canada. Formed in 2003 by guitarist Jerry Fielden, their main goal was to re-create some of the orignal aspects of 1970's Hard Rock and Progressive Rock and fuse it together with early 21st Century Progressive, Doom & Gothic Metal to make an interesting metal hybrid. Their debut album ''So Many Leapers'' was released in April of 2006. and their second album ''Consequences Of Dreams'' was released on October 5, 2009. The band is now working on their 3rd album.

Appeared with the closing track on this femme-metal (voices) compilation http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/album.php?album_id=32808 Third album 'Netherworld' released end of 2011 on Ravenheart Music, and 'Déjà-Vu' EP self-released at end of March, this year (now available for free DL from the band's site, along with about six other older songs) (it appears DV EP is 4 re-recordings of older songs - so you can hear So Many Leapers' title-track twice, and find the advances they've made over 7 years)

This is an emerging band from Toronto, ON. Their sound is super melodic while at the same time being heavy and crushing. The riffs are progressive and rhythmic, with several breakdown sections and gorgeous solos. The vocal melodies and harmonies are sung by a female metal vocalist and soprano, who adds beauty and power to the songs. Often, there are dualities with a male vocalist, but instead of going for a beauty and beast style, they go for dual clean melodies for their songs. This band has a very modern sound, and mixes elements of symphonic metal bands such as Nightwish and Epica, with more modern djent bands such as Periphery, Protest the Hero and Monuments.

Preludio Ancestral formed in 2002, with another name: Celestial Dream. The band changed his name to Preludio Ancestral in 2005 when they decided to take other musical directions.
The name Preludio Ancestral was taken from two opposite words: "Prelude" (what is to come) and "Ancestral" (what happened). A nice merger to express the mindset we have today, a good balance.
Leonardo L. Gatti Leader and Founder at that time took his first steps with Javier Valenzuela on bass, Melisa Gatti on keyboards, William Ferreira on drums and Romina Cáceres on vocals
By that time the band used to play hard rock musical style but day after day, the new compositions were rapidly becoming into power metal style and there were many members who have played in Preludio and have helped what the band is today.
Preludio Ancestral has performed live in several shows both capital and in the province of Bs.As Argentina. In 2003 the band released a demo with 6 songs named: Sueño Celestial (Celestial Dream).
In 2005 the guitar player Sebastian Nunez enters the band giving a touch more power to their music and near the actual style of Preludio Ancestral (Ancestral Prelude)

this band is new but sounds like they should have been around in the 80's ....alot of people on here seem to like bands like guns'n'roses , motley crue, cinderella, dangerous toys and wasp. if you like those bands , you will dig this band. they just released an album after having completed a successful crowdfunding campaign and the album is available in digital and cd format. here is a recent review of the album from sleazeroxx.com
Stacey Sleaze - vocals
Cleve - guitar and backing vocals
Xav - bass and backing vocals

In 2015 it's becoming increasingly rare to find straight-up rock bands hailing from Canada or the USA, instead most of the talent pool is gravitating towards modern folk or electronic dance music. That's why I was delighted to find this gem of a band rooted in Montreal, Canada. With the name Sleazy Way Out, and an album called Satisfy Me that features cover artwork of a girl in a mini skirt putting on lipstick in a dirty washroom, it quickly becomes crystal clear what genre this group are catering to.
On first listen to Satisfy Me one might think they have stumbled across a long-lost Cinderella recording -- but no, this is brand new. That vocal sound you're hearing is about as close to a second coming of Tom Keifer as I've ever heard. Sleazy Way Out lead vocalist Stacey Sleaze is a true tenor, but not in the usual shrill manor of most tenor rock vocalists, instead he has that full bodied growl that only Keifer could completely pull off.
There are some noteworthy points to Sleazy Way Out's sound, and the songwriting is simple straight-ahead fun driving hard rock -- no fillers nor ballads are to be found on Satisfy Me. I might also add that the band's songs contain arguably better hooks than most other new bands of the 'sleaze' genre. Guitar fans will find plenty of tasteful chops to steal and the solid drumbeats and bass lines are slammin'. Most notable are the songs "Born To Booze", "Hotter Than Fire" and "Voodoo Queen" that formulate the lethal mix of pop-metal with a bluesy punch reminiscent of latter Cinderella.
Sleazy Way Out's future may be bright, having already opened for established acts such as Crashdiet, Faster Pussycat and John Corabi. Fans of '80s rock will eat Satisfy Me up... and crank it up.
