It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

The Canadian rock band was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early 1980s as an import before interest gradually declined. Today, the power trio continue to receive radio airplay on Classic Rock stations and are perhaps best remembered for their positive message songs and their vibrant energetic concerts, complete with extravagant pyrotechnical light shows. Their popularity was extremely strong in Texas, where they first received strong radio attention; but, they were stellar standouts at California's US Festival, and garnered a considerable fan base and radio attention by regularly touring the world, especially throughout North America and Europe. Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga.

If Journey and Rush are on this site, so should Triumph. Rik Emmett is a guitar god!

this band definitely deserves place on this site!

I agree that this band deserves place on this site. It's one of the finest hard rock/progressive rock bands of Canada.

Okay, they're not metal; but they surely were/are a huge influence for some industrial/post-metal bands like Godflesh or Neurosis.
I've seen a lot of (great) bands here that have nothing to do with metal at all (Current 93 for example), so... I thought that the almighty Swans could have a chance to be featured on MS. :)
19.06.2014 - Syk
C93 were reviewed by a staffer a long, long time ago. I'm quite confident they'd never be seen here but for that fact. Don't get swanhopes up ;)
22.06.2014 - Ilham
They really have nothing to do here despite being a great band that still produces great records.
19.02.2015 - Hank80AF
They have a very unique style in his music, very personal and quite complex.
17.06.2015 - Bardusk
Swans is a must here. And yes, they are more metal than most of metal bands.
12.08.2015 - AlbusNox
They are not metal at all!!! Are u serious people?! Let's bring The Beatles on MS... Because they were a huge influence for some heavy metal bands... C'mon it's METAL STORM not MUSIC STORM!!!!
01.07.2015 - ManiacBlasphemer
Not quite a metal band, but seeing that other hard rock or glam bands are featured, I do not see why these guys shouldn't be here. Great White is one of the better bands from that thoroughly commercial movement of the 80s.

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Alexey Arzamazov is the mastermind and only remaining original member of Shadow Host. He formed the band in Moscow, 1993.
Andrey Smirnov was forced to leave in 2007 due to the time he needed to spend with his main band Everlost.
After Victor Anger's departure in 2009, original vocalist Sergey Kayumov returned. According to Shadow Host's official site, bassist Vasiliy Rumyantsev is no longer in the band, and Sergey Kayumov is again playing the bass.

Adrián Barilari with the keyboardist Hugo Bistolfi, who also left Rata Blanca in 1994, form Alianza, with many musicians sessions, which were the only members permanently was Barilari and Bistolfi. The duo explore ballads sound with more keyboard presence than Rata Blanca. Alianza did not have much impact in Argentina, but in other Latin American countries. They edited three albums Sueños del Mundo (1994), Alianza (1997), and Huellas (1999).

AraPacis (Ara-Patches) is a female fronted metal band hailing from Montreal, Canada. Formed in 2003 by guitarist Jerry Fielden, their main goal was to re-create some of the orignal aspects of 1970's Hard Rock and Progressive Rock and fuse it together with early 21st Century Progressive, Doom & Gothic Metal to make an interesting metal hybrid. Their debut album ''So Many Leapers'' was released in April of 2006. and their second album ''Consequences Of Dreams'' was released on October 5, 2009. The band is now working on their 3rd album.

AraPacis is more Classic/Prog Metal than Metalcore, AraPacis has shared the stage with The Agonist, Raven and Anvil, amongst other bands.

Not metalcore... somethin' else. Appeared with the closing track on this femme-metal (voices) compilation http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/album.php?album_id=32808 Third album 'Netherworld' released end of 2011 on Ravenheart Music, and 'Déjà-Vu' EP self-released at end of March, this year (now available for free DL from the band's site, along with about six other older songs) (it appears DV EP is 4 re-recordings of older songs - so you can hear So Many Leapers' title-track twice, and find the advances they've made over 7 years)

They have two full length albums, one live dvd and another dvd that comes with the album The WitcHunt. Though not technically metal, WCS is a style that could definitely garner attention from people in the metal community. Not quite to the point of Aggrotech (the combination of metal vocals and EBM music) but more of a Rob Zombie, southern, Industrial style with amazing vocals. The visuals they provide in their live show (which is the also on the dvd from the WitcHunt) add for another level of expierience. From TD playing a saw, Herr Schweinn interacting with the crowd, The Faceless Woman's amazing display (and if your lucky enough to see him live, The Leech is also an exceptional member), they are a wonderful delight to see live- If you enjoy horror, that is. All in all, I firmly think that they deserve a place here on Metalstorm.net

Vehemal is a Montréal-based music outfit formed in September 2008 by Marie-Josée Sévigny and Martine Bourque. The original concept was to compose metal music from a feminine perspective of the world. The writing of the album "The Atom Inside", which was recorded at Silverwings Studio, reflects this idea. Now it is your turn to explore this universe.

The Band LIONCAGE was founded in 2013 by Thorsten Bertermann (Vocals), Torsten Landsberger (Drums) and Lars König (Guitar). We met at a Festival at the Loreley that was headlined by Toto and Whitesnake.
After some (better a lot) Beer we were talking about our favourite Bands and we decided to do our own thing.
Our musical influences are Bands like Toto, Journey, Foreigner etc.
All three of us were playing in different Cover-Bands for several years as professionals. We enyoid it, but it was time for our own music. So we began writing songs...and it works great!

Because it is the most prolific band in South America. An independent band composed of excellent musicians and an amazing singer ( Dany Tee, who also works in Downfall of Nur , one of the surprises of 2015).
Seeing them live is a unique experience, a steamroller performance that surpasses many bands quietly recognized by the media.
Listen to the album " ERA " and are not going to be questions. This band should be touring the world , filling halls and breaking heads.

My Refuge is a new sensation in modern Power and Heavy Metal, with influences coming from Progressive Rock and Melodic Metal, mixing melancholic and dark atmospheres with epic tunes. The band was born in 2010 and later that year they released the self-produced ep '3407 - Pictures Of An August Night'. In 2013 My Refuge released a new ep, 'Living In Anger', which was very well received by critics all over the world. At that point they started writing new songs and playing live relentlessly.
In 2015 My Refuge signed a deal with Bakerteam Records for the release of the long waited debut album 'A Matter Of Supremacy', mixed and mastered at Eleven Studio under the supervision of producer Andrea De Bernardi. The album has deep roots in Classic Heavy Metal and bands such as Crimson Glory, Iron Maiden, Rage, Helloween and Blind Guardian to name a few, with a very personal touch and deep, introspective lyrics, often dealing with social and political issues.

The band's monster grooves harken back to the heavier sound of late-eighties/early-nineties bands like Babylon A.D. and Lynch Mob, combined with the grittiness of current hard rock groups like Velvet Revolver.
Formed at the end of 2007 by Babylon A.D. founding member/guitarist Ron Freschi and vocalist Jeffrey Winslow, and now featuring the powerhouse rhythm section of Babylon A.D. drummer Jamey Pacheco and bassist Rich Talley, Syrym is a throwback to a time when bone-crushing riffs and huge melodic hooks ruled the day.
Growing up in Hayward, California, Freschi's jazz guitar training soon gave way to the influence of guitar heroes such as Michael Schenker, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Dave Meniketti, Neil Schon, Warren DiMartini, Nuno Bettencourt, and George Lynch. Freschi was recruited by the Persuaders, who went on to release local rock radio hits such as "I'm No Good For You" and "Don't Ask Questions." The Persuaders eventually caught the ear of Arista Records president Clive Davis, who made them one of the label's few hard rock acts, and the band proceeded to change their name to Babylon A.D. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1989, featured several MTV and Headbanger's Ball hits, including "Bang Go The Bells," "Hammer Swings Down," and "The Kid Goes Wild," which was featured in the film Robocop 2. The band's sophomore effort, Nothing Sacred, was released in 1992. They went on to release several more albums on Perris Records.

Downfall is a Danish power metal band.
We like mixing things up a bit here and there, hence the term ''Crossover power metal''
Downfall started as a simple solo project, where the idea was to write a bunch og songs, record them and see where things went,
And 2½ years, a debut album, a lot of studio time, work, and frustation later Downfall was born.

The concept of To The Beginning is not simply a journey into outer space, in search for ourselves or for a new hope, it's also a condemnation of human cruelty at war.
The thrilling but also tragic adventure of Ian, a family man who undertake to leave our planet in searching of a new world, highlights our philosophy for which THE END does not exist, FROM what we seem like oblivion we can follow a new path. You can find lyrics for each track to live this story beside Ian.

The band was born in August 2005, playing since the beginning a dark modern Heavy Metal, raw and noble at the same time.
In October 2005 it took over the name "Red Warlock", and started working on the first demo cd "Rising From Hell" and playing live.
In September 2009 the band finished the recording sessions of a new Promo CD titled "Sabrewolf", and the first full-length album "Serve Your Master" was released December 6th, 2010 by My Graveyard Productions.
In April 2012, the band toured the U.S.: 9 shows through Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida.
In September 2012, Red Warlock changed name into Negacy ('nɛgəsi).
During all these years of growth, which has led it towards various different musical directions, it felt the need for a new monicker, suitable for the dark modern nature of the band.
Since a while it's dealing with topics as cultural decadence and human condition decay, seeing, behind it all, a well thought machinery.
The result was to create "Negacy", a fusion of the words "Negation" and "Legacy".
This change is for sure the symbol of a fresh start for the band, which is setting up for working like never before, to gather as much as possible from its past and future.
A new beginning, taking over and carrying on Red Warlock's aim throughout the years, with even more awareness.
The latest album, titled "Negacy", completely self-produced, clearly demonstrates what stated before.

THORNS OF SIN is a powerful, world-class melodic blend of Heavy metal and Blackened Thrash Metal rising from Los Angeles California. It is the brainchild of one the genre's most prolific upcoming instrumentalists/songwriters in LA; Sergio Varela. THORNS OF SIN's music is created by a meticulous combination of intelligently structured and guitar driven songwriting, clean production, and an array of vocal arrangements with catchy chorus lines that stick in your head after only one listen.
