It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

Meet Key of Solomon. Founded in late 2008 by lead guitarist Brett Walker and former rhythm guitarist John Lund. Through perseverance, Key of Solomon relocated to Portland, OR where Brett and John connected with Portland native and bass guitar slinger, Aaron Opsahl. After a summer and fall playing shows with a drum machine and not being able to find the human element capable of playing the drums for the project, the band decided to branch out from Portland and scope out the Seattle area. To make a terribly long story short; Key of Solomon relocated and now calls Seattle home. Matt Maisano joins the lineup on drums, and newcomer Steve Linnell takes the spot on guitar.

Metal/space rock combo, sounding sometimes like Iron Maiden, sometimes like Hawkwind. There seems to be some confusion over the origin of the band: Some claim they are Norwegian, but this mistake probably rests on the fact that their eponymous album was released on a small Norwegian label. Most recent release is Archives (Moon, 1994), a 72-minute, 13-song collection of unreleased and remastered songs 1989-92. Also appears on the compilation album Woronzoid (Woronzow Records, March 1989).

The thrash metal monster The Outer Limits was spawned at the shores of the Black Sea in 2008. The current line-up is George "Peich"-vocals, The Policeman-bass, Dave-drums, Jelyazko "Holt"-lead guitar, Dancho-rhythm guitar. All of the members have previous experience in their favorite style (thrash metal). Most of the band members have played in the previous incarnations of The Outer Limits, namely Outrage and Hlebarka, the latter being one of the thrash metal pioneers in Burgas in the 90s and late 80s. A two-track demo was recorded in 2009 which is available on the band's Reverbnation profile. 2009 marks the first live appearance of the band as The Outer Limits. Since then, the band has played numerous gigs and is considered as one of the most proficient and promising thrash metal acts in the area. The style of The Outer Limits could be described as pure oldschool thrash metal in the vein of the Bay Area thrash. Lyrically, the band is also a typical thrash metal oriented, stressing on topics like death, war, suicide and metal supremacy. Currently The Outer Limits are working on their first album, containing songs such as "Bonded by Metal","Apocalypto","Freedom is a Dirty Word","Suicide","The Holocaust of Dreams", "World Metal Domination" and few more in works. Prepare yourself for the mind blowin' thrash of The Outer Limits. Long live OLDSCHOOL THRASH METAL!

Project Arcadia is a Bulgarian modern melodic/power metal band. We recorded our new album "A Time Of Changes" with one of the best singers in the genre - Urban breed, whom you might know from his work with bands such as TAD MOROSE, BLOODBOUND and TRAIL OF MURDER. It's already been mixed and mastered and we're about to start looking for a label to release it.

The Lethal Rising is a band that aims to draw on the energy of his music power metal and the care and virtuoso prog metal. With lyrics that address the deepest questions that plague the human mind , the instrumental dictates the climate conducive to striking melodies and epic interludes ; providing an exciting and intense experience to the listener .
Born in Recife / PE in 2007 , the band began its path through the compositions Adriano Forte ( vocals) and Marco Melo (guitar ) , who later , with the admission of new members , were forming the identity of the band's sound . This band from Ontario, Canada really pack a punch. Their style is mostly melodic death metal combined with clean vocals and some progressive elements. Their riffs and overall sound has something mezmerizing in my opinion, definetly worth checking out!

Band with some national recognition in the portuguese metal scene in the 90', they started in 1992 and disbanded in 2002, leaving two studio albuns. The style was doom with gothic elements. With time, the gothic elements surpassed and the band was heavily defined by that genre. Still today, they are referred as one of the best bands of doom/gothic in the decade in Portugal. Unfortunately there's few sources of info (myspace page is one of them and even this is not totally trustful: the discography is fine, the biography is from some american band with the same name) but the facebook page seems good source (https://www.facebook.com/inhumanportugal). The band reunited in 2007/8 to split up again in 2011.

So this band here was formed in 2007 and since then have released nothing but solid, hard hitting death metal. 2012 They released the album entitled My Empire (One of my personal favorite death metal albums) plus they are releasing a new album this year (2014) entitled Kingdom Of Worms. Below is a link to that very album on Youtube.
