Biography

Firestorm started its musical activity in 2000 as an Iron Maiden cover band. After building an adequate live experience, the band decided it was time to write their own material. Firestorm then became a progressive power metal band, inspired by acts such as Dream Theater, Angra and Labyrinth. The original lineup was: Andrea Ottavianelli (vocals), Daniele Serenelli (guitar), Manuele Pesaresi (guitar), Marco Brugè (keys), Luca Raffelli (bass), and Lucio Bacchiocchi (drums).

Despite the band's influences, their ultimate goal was to develop a personal musical identity built on modern and original stylistic solutions and sounds. The first outcome of the band's work was the demo CD, "The Never-Ending Course Of Time", which was recorded independently in the band's own studio in 2003. It was acclaimed by Italian and international webzines giving the band hope and strength for the future.

In the following 3 years the line-up changed dramatically: bassist Lorenzo Alessandri, guitarist Moreno Baldoni and drummer Simone Polenta joined the band in 2004. Riccardo Curzi became the new singer in early 2006. After the band was completely reborn they started recording their debut album. In early 2008 the band decided to alleviate bass player Lorenzo Alessandri of his duties because of musical differences. His replacement, Simone Monterubbiano (Anthima), joined the band soon after.

"Web Of Deceit" was released in 2008, after which Riccardo Curzi made his departure. Firestorm are currently looking for a vocalist to begin the recording process on their next album.
