Biography

Founded in London, Vulgaris takes influence from a variety of genres, incorporating black metal, death metal, atmospheric and progressive elements to build complex and varied songs.

Using clean melodic instrumental sections and thick progressive repetitions they develop atmospheres which evolve and build in intensity. With two vocalists, Vulgaris blends harsh rasps with deep guttural screams and when these are coupled with their intricate and devastating blast beats, fast thrash riffs and searing guitar solos they create an explosion of extreme metal.

The debut EP Ex Igni was released in 2019, a formative time for the new evolution of the band. Written and recorded by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jonathan Michael, Ex Igni was produced by Jess O'Toole (SLItHeR Productions) who shortly thereafter joined as lead guitarist. Matthew Cooper joined as bassist later that year bringing with him progressive and dark new influences and primal screams. Lastly George Mitchell joined on drums with technical percussive grooves and powerful double bass passages.

With the official lineup established, writing began.

Vulgaris released "Six Rivers" from their upcoming album entitled Asundre coming 26/02/2021. Written by all four members of Vulgaris and produced by SLItHeR, this track showcases the start of their new sound.
