Biography

Total Fucking Destruction is the brainchild of frontman / drummer Richard Hoak, a longtime member of grindcore legends Brutal Truth. Centered around Hoak's social criticisms and his breakneck, jazz-inspired drumming, Total Fucking Destruction pushes grindcore into uncharted, open-minded realms. Musical influences include the raw power of old Napalm Death, the progressive approach of old Minutemen, and the glory of classic rock radio. The SF Weekly has characterized Hoak as "the devil to Andrew WK's angel.">/p>

Since it has been around, circa '00, Total Fucking Destruction never ceased to stress its audience with its very own expression of grindcore: anguish-inducing, claustrophobic, psychologically harassing and nihilist. The band has released numerous versions of its demos, spreading the word worldwide, rereleasing them as EPs, tapes, CDr's? all mean was used to attack each and every possible listener, unceasingly. And touring has always been approached in the very same manner, like the UK tour with Bones Brigade records' won Sylvester Staline. The band, in '04, released these demos again, in their ultimate form, the "Compact disc v1.0″ demo-compilation (Bones Brigade records) and then focused on sharpening, over and over, their weapons of personal total fucking destruction.

2007's "Zen and the art of total fucking destruction" (Bones Brigade), the real debut album by Hoak's special brigade of nervous benchmarking twisted the knife, slowly in every possible way. The claustrophobic and anxious video for "Armed response" depicting that asphyxiating feeling the band is making its listener endure to its paroxysm.

It took seven years to Hoak to define, refine, sharpen the style of his musical Beast until it exploded, out of control, at the audience's face with this debut. The Beast once born started living for itself and Total Fucking Destruction released its second full-length, "Peace, love and total fucking destruction" (Bones Brigade), the very next year, '08 (accompanied by a split 7″ EP with Agoraphic Nosebleed, Bones Brigade too).

A split tape with other Bones Brigade records' band Spoonful Of Vicodin and T.F.D. is ready to release its new split 7″ EP, with Japanese grindcore legens Unholy Grave (Bones Brigade records, '09).
