Biography

At the end of 2004 Marcos decided to leave Soul Despair and form his own musical project. In the beginning of 2005 Urban Tales was created, influenced by a variety of acts, including Anathema, Paradise Lost, Charon, and Entwine, among others.

With a clear musical vision and all the members assembled, the band began pre-recording a demo, which gave them the opportunity to work with the talented and well know director Ricardo Capristano, who invited Urban Tales to be a part of the soundtrack to the DVD Mais1.

Afterward the band decided to record their demo, entitled Urban Tales in 2006. The album was well received by critics and the general public, receiving massive airplay, a videoclip for "In Purity", numerous awards (including revelation band of 2006 and the inclusion of the demo in some of the Best Albums Of 2006 list) and a contract deal with Burning Star... The demo also gave Urban Tales the title of one of the most exciting Gothic metal acts in the scene, raising the bar for their next release.

After months of hard work, Diary Of A No was released in November 2007. The album was released worldwide and eventually sold out completely. It was universally acclaimed by members of the media; and the videos that promoted the album - "Farewell" and "Prison Inside", received massive airplay on MTV Headbanger's Ball. Both of the singles also received massive airplay for a few months in Portuguese national radios (and in metal radios all over the world).

As the new year began, Urban Tales were being recognized for their debut in a great number of polls as best newcomers, best metal act and best album in 2007, giving them and Diary Of A No well deserved acclaim.

With the passing of 2008 the band began working on their next album, entitled The End.
