Biography

The band Strider was formed in March of 2000 in Perugia, Italy, and it is well known in the Umbrian underground scene due to its powerful live performances and songs that tries release after release to find an original way to mix extreme metal, classic and modern metal, along with unique melodies. The lyrics belong for its most part to the horror/sci-fi category along with some personal and introspective elements. The bands that could serve as reference points are Blind Guardian, Strapping Young Lad, Soilwork, In Flames, Children of Bodom, W.A.S.P, Arch Enemy along with others not only in the metal field. After some changes of original line-up, the current Strider line-up consists of: Atoragon (rhythm guitar and vocals), Thanatos (Bass), Napalm (keyboards), Reanimator (drums), and Lboldro (lead guitar). The Band succeeded in the top 10 heavy metal of Vitaminic.it for 3 weeks, raising to the second position, and in the general top 10 for 1 week (and we achieved similar results even in other sites), and With the song "Book of Blood" we ended up actually on the first position in the category "new entries" for some month. We were awarded with the first prize in the musical contest of Corciano the 24th June of 2004, achieved the second place at the "PogaParty" 2003 festival and ended up as finalists in many other local rock competitions. We shared the stage or joined festivals with many important bands as Node, Forgotten Silence, Castaway, Rain, Infernal Poetry, Frostmoon Eclipse, Srl, Subliminal Crusher, and Exawatt among others. We were interviewed by local magazines and webzines and took part on several radio programs. Our songs have been broadcasted by radios in Italy, Belgium (Toxic Waltz) and by some other broadcasters in Bosnia and Montenegro, and out of Italy they obtained positive reactions in printed magazines and webzines almost worldwide. In november 2005 the band released the Ep "Ultima" (distributed by Old-Ones records), which is the second part of "Omega", both lyrically and graphically, and closes the era of the songs written by its old lineup. Ultima (mixed and mastered at 4thDimension Studios) has been released at the StErminio metal fest 2005; in the meanwhile, the band, gigging to promote "Ultima", took part to the edition 2005, 2006 and 2007 of "Unimusic Live", and every exhibition has been recorded and published in a different compilation, distributed throughout Italy in 1000 copies each. The Ultima promotional tour finishes with two spectacular gigs in Slovakia (one in Bratislava at the legendary Randal Club and another one in Trencin), in october 2006; meanwhile, the band then took part in other festivals as both editions of StErminio Metal Fest and Poga Party 2007. Gearheart it's the band's first full lenght album and 7 tracks over 9 compose a concept about the human soul, and describes different feelings that are all parts of the same picture; the album is presented in may 2007, after five months of work, and marks the dawn of a new era for the band. The album is distributed by Old Ones Records through music stores, mailorder, and label's stand present on many metal concerts.
