Biography
Nastrandir was founded in 2006. The first songs, classic pagan/viking metal were published on the one-track EP "Des Kriegers Reise" and the "Demo 2006"
Nastrandir played gigs with bands like Moonsorrow, Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Korpiklaani and Týr.
The northern German label Twilight showed interest in the young band and published the debut album "Zwischen Horizonten" in September 2007.
For the songwriting, the band tried to set a new course and to continously improve. Progressive, laid-back parts as well as fast blastbeats were used more intensively. As for their lyrics, Nastrandir broke new ground as well. Atmospheric, spiritual Viking Metal now was characteristic for Nastrandir's music. The second album "Prayer to Earth" will be released on Juli 31th, 2009 and will present the listener with heathen metal including streotype-free references to present times.
