Biography

Ripping Corpse was formed in New Jersey on New Year's Day in 1987 by vocalist Scott Ruth (Dim Mak) and guitarist Shaune Kelley (Dim Mak, Hate Eternal). They had worked together in The Beast and would share the desire to make brutal metal music that has stood the test of time. They would join up with drummer Brandon Thomas (The Dying Light, Burnt By The Sun, Dim Mak) and bassist Dave Bizzigotti (Speed Kill Hate).

In the middle of 1987 they released the Death Warmed Over demo and played their first show in spring of 1987 at the Brighten bar in New Jersey with The Worst and Blitspere. They then released the Splattered Remains demo in 1989 and later the same year they added guitarist Erik Rutan (Morbid Angel, Alas, Hate Eternal). In 1990 they released the three song demo that went by the title Demo 3. They had begun to make a name for ourselves in the death/thrash circuit and continued to play shows with Revenant, Human Remains, Kreator, Morbid Angel, Deceased, Immolation, etc... and they watched the following grow.

They entered Quantum Sound Studios in New Jersey to record a full length record Dreaming With The Dead. This release is a sought after by many metal fans young and old and seems to stand the test of time in the underground metal scene.

They split up in 1993 but the requests for a reunion have been overwhelming. There just might be something in the future to force at least one more reunion show, what that is [Dave Bizzigotti] really can't disclose at this moment 'til it's in stone.
