Biography

Since their formation in August 2005, The Crinn have demonstrated their unrelenting work ethic, progressive musical evolution, determined professionalism, and restless creativity.

With their original line up consisting of Chad White : Bass, Cole Leonard : Guitar, Corey Melom : Drums, and Jon Peterson : vocals, The Crinn self released the "Kills Curiosity" EP in 2006, mixing capricious hardcore and technical musical elements with Jons eccentric vocal styling to begin the progression of musical growth that has been reinforced over time with each passing work.

In support of "Kills Curiosity", The Crinn self-booked and toured the majority of the mid-west as well as the east coast. Shortly thereafter, parting ways with Jon Peterson, and opening the door for their current vocalist John Nelson.

With John, The Crinn's voice became more fierce and determined. The erratic flavor was reduced giving the band the ability to focus their energy on the adventurous technical jazz metal that The Crinn have become known for today.

The Crinn's self titled EP came to light in the spring of 2007, and after touring the south east to support the EP, The Crinn signed a digital distribution deal with the now defunct record label Corrosive Recordings. This signing allowed the band to greatly expand the reach of their music.

Shortly after the signing with Corrosive, The Crinn and drummer Corey parted ways, which led to the introduction of Chris Zugschwert. He learned the EP in only a few months, then The Crinn embarked on a west coast tour that took them throughout the south, up the west coast and back home to Minnesota.

Upon returning to St. Paul, The Crinn began work on the writing of their next release, "Dreaming Saturn". In November of 2008, they were offered a record deal by Nuclear Blast to record their next album. This disk, which has already been tracked (Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording), mixed (Zack Ohren at Castle Ultimate Studios) and mastered (Alan Douches at West West Side Music) is due to be released 4/24/10 in North America and 5/14/10 in Europe. It will be The Crinn's world wide debut, as well as their first full length.

Chris' unique style of drumming allowed The Crinn's song writing process to evolve yet again, moving them to incorporate more melodic and haunting passages amongst the agitated and note laden core that The Crinn have made their own.

The Crinn have shared the stage with many of metal's heavy hitters both at home and on tour. Psyopus, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Protest The Hero and Suicide Silence just to name a few. Look for them to be playing many more local and regional shows, as well as hitting the longer road to showcase their new material in support of "Dreaming Saturn".
