Biography

STONE SOUL FOUNDATION was formed in 2002. The Blues influenced hard rock band is based in the city of Auburn, which is located in the CNY area. Stone Soul Foundation's writing style consists of pumped up and crunched out guitar work courtesy of Jeff Wiggins and Dan Dennis. SSF's guitar sound is also quite often melodic, bouncy, and drenched in a blues flow.

The guitars are supported by a hard driving and sometimes funky rhythm section featuring Doug Paradise on bass and Shane Stillman on the drums. Stone Soul Foundation's lead vocals range from smooth and melodic to rough and inciting. Lead singer Sean Muldoon's affinity for classic R&B is apparent in his delivery. Stone Soul Foundation has been compared to bands like Black Sabbath, Clutch, Grand Funk Railroad, Queen's Of The Stone Age, Cream, Bad Company, Metallica, and even The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

To date, STONE SOUL FOUNDATION has self released three recordings. Their first entitled "Scenic Route" helped get the bands performance career started by getting them through the doors of area venues. Their second release "3 To Get Ready?" received generous airplay on CNY area radio stations. SSF's most recent release is their first official full length record entitled "Into The Flames". "Into The Flames" has received a lot of air play both locally and nationally on college and internet radio stations. The thirteen track offering, released in 2006, won a "Sammy Award" for best rock recording. The "Sammy Awards" honor Syracuse area musicians, and is a big annual event in the city of Syracuse. Sleaze Grinder.com, a CD reviewing site, has said, "Into The Flames is remarkably pretense free stuff that exist only to get you on your feet or on your knees whichever comes first."

STONE SOUL FOUNDATION is currently working on their second full length release as of yet untitled. They have released a few singles along the way, which are available for free download. Their new songs have already become the most requested on CNY area radio station The Wall 99.3. The songs range from straight ahead huge rock numbers with mind bending guitar solos such as "Ain't No Mystery" to a powerful and haunting ballad called "Window" which weaves in and out of tranquil verses and an intense chorus. "Christian", a song about religious hypocrisy, stomps in aggressively to a funky, gospel inspired bridge. The song is brought home by a fast paced riff which brings the band Black Sabbath to mind.

Upstate Live Magazine has said "?their current single "Christian" could help them land a well deserved record contract." Stone Soul Foundation has played hundreds of shows in the north east. While booking shows playing with other local and regional acts, they have also shared the bill with more notable groups such as Black Stone Cherry, People In Planes, Mountain, Warrant, LA Guns, Rusted Root singer Michael Glabicki, Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner, and jazz and funk drummer Pugi Bell's band. SSF has played at many diverse gatherings that range from metal festivals, jam band festivals, and even an event that celebrated Harley Davidson's 105th Anniversary, which the president of Harley Davidson himself attended. Performing at such a variety of venues and events illustrates the diverse musical style which envelops their core sound. Their core sound is unarguably hard rock. STONE SOUL FOUNDATION are working to become an international recording and touring success. They stand behind their music one hundred and ten percent. The Band feels it would be a crime if the world could not easily access the music of STONE SOUL FOUNDATION.
