Biography

In 2005 Bitchie had a vision of an all female metal band. She had played in many bands over the years, but this was going to be something totally different. After having named the project Hysterica the search for members began. She was looking for women with great musical skills but they also had to know how to have fun and be crazy. First on board was the singer Sinderella. Another woman who for sure filled all of those criteria was Helln'. She has been rockin' out behind the drums with Hysterica from the start. The first line up was complete when Exotica (bass) and Electra (keyboards) joined the band.
Hysterica's first gig took place at Silja rocken (a 24 hour annual festival on a ship cruising the Baltic Sea) in 2005. Between 2005 and 2007 Hysterica played frequently in various venues all over Sweden.

A demo that included six tracks was recorded in 2006. It was a great success. Hysterica had over 200.000 listeners on MySpace during the first 2 years.
The hard rocking guitarist Rockzilla joined Hysterica in 2006 and contributed in making the Hysterica sound even richer and rougher.
In 2007 Exotica and Electra left the band. Exotica was replaced on bass by the white angel Satanica.
In 2008 Hysterica played at the Sweden Rock Festival for the first time. Only two weeks before that the brave, young 18 year old Anni De Vil had auditioned to fill in for Sinderella who had been double booked. When Sinderella later in 2008 decided to leave the band and move on to new adventures Anni De Vil took over as the lead singer of Hysterica. Sinderella is now better known as Liv of Sister Sin.

The debut album METALWAR was released in 2009 and it is all a product of the creative Hysterica ladies. They wrote and produced it themselves. However, they had a dream - that Peter Tägtgren would mix the album. The dream came true and the rest is, as they say, history.
In 2009 Hysterica went on their first European tours. One short during the winter and a longer one during the fall. In between those tours Rockzilla left the band and the search for a new member began.
Finally, in April 2010, the sisters of steel found Marydeath who joined the family on keyboards.

In 2010 Hysterica was presented with the award for best newcomer at the Swedish metal awards. A new album is in the making and will be recorded during the fall.
Hysterica loves playing live and puts a lot of effort into making sure that the shows are rocking musically as well as visually. It has taken a few years with different members to form what Hysterica is today ready to conquer the world.
