Episode 13 - Biography

Biography

Episode 13 was formed in June 2001 by Ozan (vocals), Murat (guitars) and Can (drums) with the intention of playing Black Metal with a particularly evil streak. Since then the band has released the 2-track demo CD "Expected Damnation" (2003), a Split EP with Sadistic Spell (2003), and three full-length albums - "Tabula Rasa" in 2005, "Pitch Black" in 2008 and the new album "Death Reclaims the Earth" in 2010. Many Episode 13 tracks are regularly played on radio stations internationally, and the band features on compilation CDs both at home and abroad.

As with most bands, a few line up changes have taken place over the years. Bassist Meric quit the band and was replace by Sermet, while vocal duties were temporarily handled by former Whitchtrap front man Tolgahan, who fills in for Ozan on "Pitch Black". Murat, who was rarely able to perform live with the band during 2010 leaves due to personal commitments.

Following a 2-year break, founder member & vocalist Ozan Akyol returned to the band in 2008 and former Astral Division guitarist Serkan is added to the line up, and work commences on the third full length album "Death Reclaims the Earth".

On the 3rd October 2010, "Death Reclaims the Earth" is released on Norway's Misantrof ANTIRecords, the label founded and headed by Carpathian Forest bassist Daniel Vrangsinn. It is an album that sees the band making its strongest statement yet in terms of musical direction, performance and commitment to producing dark, intense, intelligent, misanthropic Black Metal, and is available for free download directly from Misantrof at http://episode13.misantrof.net/

EPISODE 13 has toured in Russia, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands and the Ukraine, and performs regularly at national and international festivals, including the 2009 Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway and the 2010 Infernal Damnation Festival in London.

The band is managed by Patricia Thomas, the UK based manager who works both with some of the legendary bands and artists of the Black and Extreme Metal scenes such as Maniac (Skitliv, ex-Mayhem), Nattefrost, Carpathian Forest, Niklas Kvarforth (Shining) as well as some of the best upcoming bands of today.
