Biography

Aevum was formed in the year 2002 in Lima, Perú by the 4 current members of the band. They recorded an EP called Heaven Burns in 2005 with the economic help of the Orson Welles Institute because of an award won in a battle of bands competition started by the same Institute. The EP featured 6 songs and was released independently by the band with 500 copies. The band went on to perform live in many local venues and some appearances in different cities within the country.

They started working on their first and only full-length album in the year 2008 but were only able to release the final material in the year 2011 due to economic reasons. The album was partially funded by the local label Morrison Records but after the company nearly bankrupted all post-mixing and mastering were indefinitely delayed until the year 2010 when they were able to fund themselves into finishing the recordings and mixing/mastering processes thanks to Adolfo Gazzo's recording/mixing studio Pito Studios.

The Creation Of Power was released in 2011 by the label Gate Of Horror records with 1000 copies, featuring 12 tracks, 3 of which are instrumental. The album is mainly inside the power metal genre, with symphonic and progressive touches. The Creation Of Power is a conceptual album, in which the lyrics of every song are based in a story written by the band and continue chronologically through the album as the story continues. The concept story is based in the creation of the world, touching on biblical, historical and cultural aspects as the human race tries to discover what was behind the beginning of their kind and how the world came to be as it is today, attributing most of the historic events on the battle for power in the creation of the human race between God, angels and the first order.

Aevum continues to perform locally and opening for International power metal bands as the Italians Vision Divine. They claim to be working on their next full-length release but the dates are yet to be confirmed.
