In July 2007, in Bodrum, Turkey he wrote the songs for Bladesong in a week and recorded them. The mix was raw because he didn't know any better, but it worked. August 2007 saw the release of Bladesong. September had Black Panther Metal. In October he released Kaisa and in November Moonsilver. Four 8-song albums in 4 months drew some attention due to the music being quite melodic and high quality despite the raw mix. In February 2008, after attending some school and passing exams he released Grave Songs and got back to school business. Summer of 2008 had Est Sularus Oth Mithas, still without an amp and just a $100 Zoom pedal.
In the autumn of 2008 he acquired a GT-10 processor, locked himself in his house for a week and wrote what would be a 42 minute long epic folk/metal song. Shadow Symphony was released. The technique mastered by Edge Of Sanity; this epic album had a theme: Richard Matheson's book What Dreams May Come. After passing some more exams he made Mistbound in 2009's cold Spring. An acoustic, instrumental album with a bonus metal song.
Having acquired his major in IT, he moved to Finland in Autumn 2009, and wrote For Eternity as the first thing. It was a melancholic, dark album with heavy black metal songs and soft acoustic ballads. At the same time he focused on his studies in Finland, until the end of 2010.
In the summer of 2010, Retribution broke the entirety of the bones in his left wrist and was left crippled with a large titanium plate and 23 pins, and a large surgery scar to mark the date. Despite medical opinion that suggested he can not play the guitar again, he got to work and through painful physiotherapy he was able to make Our Night Songs Will Forever Be..., it is the only album that is not mixed by Retribution himself. The cover art was painted by Susanna Haavisto , reflecting the forested lakeside by his house where he sat down on sunny polar nights with his guitar, writing songs for For Eternity and the later albums. The album was mixed and mastered by Adam from Dizzy Records. As a side note, Nightsong was composed just a week after his surgery, with a broken, operated and swollen left wrist and fingers. The song carries within itself the pain experienced while making it.
In 2011's winter he made Autumn Wind, an acoustic folk album that opens with one of the most famous Sorg Uten Tårer songs, "Ghost Of The Sun". Retribution states that he had the melodies for the song since when he was 3,5 years old. The album was recorded with dual microphones and acoustic guitars and it's the only album where all vocals are clean.
Somnolent Melancholy of 2012's autumn is Sorg Uten Tårer's latest release and it's a heavy melodic black metal album with a runtime of over an hour.
