Biography
Conception lies in the process of self-cognition. The depths of Ego are an approach, Ego Depths is a tool.
In the year of 2007 the project under the name Ego Depths was born. In the middle of Spring 2008 the first experiment in the shape of Cemetery Of The Unburied Worships (demo) had been recorded and self-released. The first steps in the development of the ED sick monolith.
A half-year after, the work on the first full-length album Equilibrium Sickness was initiated. All the works were finished in the beginning of the year 2009 and finally, it was released by Arx. Prod. by the time when I have already moved to Canada. The album is saturated with sickness and pain, ignited by the the common interpretation of being. Welcome to the universe, where the equilibrium urges you to spew up your daily life stereotypes. Stop looking with your eyes and feel, then think the sickness in your brain.
Here in Canada, in the Fall 2009, two more "not-a-brand, but new" tracks were crafted, recorded and subsequently released as a part of the split with Dispersive Light (UA, Drone\Ambient maniacs) at Endless Winter Prod..
Every time, it is possible to find out the music of Ego Depths in a different way. It is constantly changing, as the changes in me do occur. Let it be the monitoring of my life, growing, self-developing or whatever else closer: and finally you have gotten the story of the one's life, which you may or may not be interested in, to familiarize yourself and apparently learn something from the one's mistakes. And accomplishments. The Ego Depths will live until the last day of my life and if it would continue to be boring for you, the Listener, make your choice for the benefit of some other music. I would appreciate that.
My universe is built according to my own conception and only the inspiration achieved from the Monsters of our world (with their crucial influences and guide-maps) was the otherworldly force which helped me in this creation process.
And in the middle of the Summer 2011, Endless Winter Prod. has released a three-way split CD named Synthèse Collectif - The Dark Whormholes with Aura Hiemis, Sculptor and Ego Depths. Two tracks, presented there by ED, showed the new nebula achieved after a long-time analysis and evaluation. The use of the new elements widens the spectrum of musical feeling, comprehension and its posterior emanation. And the number of used elements is multiplying with time and finally will result in a second full-length album, temporarily named Bardo.
A long time had passed since our first idea about a split CD came around our thoughts with a mastermind of Russian Funeral Doom Mastodons Who Dies In Siberian Slush. Finally, in the year of 2011 it has started to be a feasible aim and we decided to put all our efforts into this possible release. Later on, a split CD called Four Fragments Of Fading Life has been announced in December and released by the end of the month, exactly on 30.12.2011. Due to delays with opening of the releasing label and in producing of the records, the split-CD started to be available for ordering since 15th of January 2012. This work particularly shows the direction of next Ego Depths' following in the musical field and emphasizes the major changes in sound, which will be craftily shown on a second full-length...
December 2013 marked as a month when Gjerhal ket Bardo has ripened enough to be shown as an independent piece of work, combining several conception lines and going through some of the shamanistic apprehensions. An increased use of guitar work, both acoustic and electric has widened the space of ED's sound, several samplings helped to show additional shades of ego's storytelling. Lyrics are written with an absurd feeling of inescapeability and regret, hatred and constant search of the self. For the first time, subtone and overtone singing has been utilized as a stroke of experimentation and an attempt in depicting the visions, their details... Gjerhal ket Bardo was later released by Exalted Woe Records (USA) on CD.
Subsequently, if not immediately, followed by 3rd full-length Oligoria Blodd released (again) digitally on April 16th, 2013. The album appears to be a new step into the unknown and start a new chapter in the sound of ED. 3rd full length presents more of the continuation of ideas as well as several tracks, that did not fit the time frame of its predecessor. Containing a trilogy "Spheres", it shows almost shamanistic approach to metal and its experiencing through/among the genres of related music. Having in its arsenal several sampled ritualistic instruments has helped not to merely enrich the sound, but to expand it and conquer new horizons, as for the one with overtone chanting use, its experience and healing.
The fourth full-length album has already been given its name as Dyrtangle and will be finalized during the year of 2014-2015, and released in August 2015 through Dusktone.
